Sophia Scamander is returning to London after living in Romania for 16 years. She hadn't seen her brothers since she left and decided to surprise them. When she returns to her childhood home, she surprised to find not one but two women staying there...
Sophia woke up when she felt a harsh prodding at her stomach. Shifting groggily in bed, she made I contact with her little brother.
"Theo?" she inquired, "What are you doing up?"
He bowed his head, "Father's after me for something Newt did again."
Sophia smiled and lifted the blanket for Theseus. The eight-year-old smiled back and climbed into bed with his sister. He snuggled up against his sister and wrapped her in tight hug.
"Do you think father hates me?" he asked.
Sophia looked down at the mop of dark hair nestled in her neck. Pulling him into a tighter hug, she shrugged.
"I'm sure he loves all of us very much." she told him, "He just... doesn't do a great job expressing it."
Theseus wriggled to get even closer to Sophia, "I hope that's true."
Theseus let out a huge yawn and rested his head on her neck. Sophia pressed a gentle kiss to his brown locks and laid her head back to sleep as well. She hated watching her father address Theseus. It was rarely a good thing. Their father blamed him for most things because it's easy. Their mother mostly fussed over their baby brother, Newt, so she paid little attention to Theseus and Sophia.
Sophia was the only person able to take notice of Theseus' accomplishments. It pained her whenever Theseus wanted to ask for something from one of them. Their father was dismissive, and their mother was distracted. Theseus was very clearly their last priority.
