High School Poems

Smile :)

A/N : This is completely free verse. And I honestly don't care. My inspiration for this one is... well... I moved far away. And I may never see his face again. I moved last day before Christmas Break 2011. And the last time I saw him was... maybe late January, 2012??? Ya... I really miss him. He was my best friend. Sooo... Ya. Enjoy while I cry - I mean SMILE! Cuz this is what this poem is about. What he taught me. To smile no matter what. No matter what comes your way. No matter how tough your day. A smile on your face can brighten your whole world. Laughter - and - smiling - is definitely the best medicine. So for all those people having a crappy day. I hope this cheers you up even a little bit. It works magic for me! :)

The day we met I thought, Your SO Immature.

It took me a year to realize I was talking about me.

You’re one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.

But you’re the only one who isn’t forced.

I guess you could tell my crazy eyes

But one look and you shut them up.

Everyone has good days, but most are bad.

Yet you seemed to laugh away the worries and fears.

“You know you always seem to have a bad day.

I think you should at least have a good one for a change.”

My teary eyes froze and a smile broke across my face.

The first in a long time.

I can’t ever see you again.

 And I still have bad days. But everyone does. Except you.

I learned from you a smile can change everything.

Can turn storms into sunny skies. Blood into rose petals.

Since that day I have always been happy.

Think it’s weird? Maybe but I don’t think so.

For two years you made my hell seem like heaven.

And when I was near six feet under, I’d feel like I was amongst the stars.

This isn’t a love letter. So don’t be fooled. This is a thank you from my heart.

Because you gave me a smile that warmed it forever.

So keep on smiling. If not for me, then for the heck of it. I will too. I promise.

Because smiles are contagious. And you are living proof of it.

I'm gonna make this short since I can't really describe it any better than I did in the poem and intro. Sooo. Thank you. For everything. Love You!
