Daksh headed home after Aashika finished her questions. Ayaan also wrapped up his work and looked at Aashika's face which reflected the upset expression.
"Aashi, get up! It's time for dinner. Stop making those faces,"
Aashika shot him a glare hearing it. "Ayaan, you never defended me from your brother. Why can't you just scold him?"
"Why can't you just answer the questions properly? He hasn't done anything that requires me to save you. Now, let's eat." Ayaan said in a calm tone making Aashika more irritated.
"But Ayaan, he scolded me and twisted my ears! Look, they're all red! He kept hitting my head—what if I end up dumb from it?"
"You already are," he muttered.
"What did you say?"
"Nothing, let’s eat. I’m starving. Get up," he said, rolling his eyes and extending his hand for her to take.
"You go ahead; I’ll catch up. I need to put these books away," she replied, avoiding his gaze as she continued to gather her books.
"Leave them and come with me," he insisted, taking her hand and pulling her to her feet. She took a few steps but winced in pain.
"What’s wrong? Let’s go," Ayaan asked, looking at her.
"Ayaan, can we eat in our room? I want to watch a movie while we eat. Please don’t say no."
"Alright, you go ahead; I’ll be there in a minute," he replied before heading to the kitchen while she made her way to the room and sat on the bed.
"Here’s your food, Let’s eat now; I’m so hungry! You have no idea how many appointments I had today. I’m exhausted," he said, starting to eat while Aashika joined him.
"Ayaan, I can’t eat anymore. Please don’t push me today; I’m really sleepy," she said after having a few bites, lying down and covering herself.
"Aashi, are you okay? You were also sleeping when I got here," he said, gently massaging her scalp.
"Yes, yes, I’m fine. Just keep your hands to yourself."
"Alright, but seriously, at least change your clothes. How many times do I have to tell you not to sleep in those jeans?"
"I’m comfortable; I don’t want to get up."
"If you’re that tired, should I do it for you?" He asked with a smirk.
She replied, pulling the blanket over her head once more, "No thanks, I really don’t want to."
"Alright, I was just joking, but you still need to change. I’m heading to the kitchen now, and when I return, I expect you to be in different clothes, okay?" With that, he walked off to the kitchen.
A few minutes later, he returned to find her still bundled up.
"Aashi, stop playing around," he said, pulling the blanket away from her.
"Please let me sleep, Ayaan," she replied, making a pouty face.
"You can sleep, but you need to change first," he insisted firmly, leaving no room for argument.
"Then hand me some clothes so I can change," she said, sitting up.
He handed her a nightdress and moved to the other side of the bed. Aashika glanced at him and then at her clothes.
"Could you please step outside while I change?" she said, clearly annoyed.
"Why should I? Just change in the bathroom," he replied.
