The next morning, after getting ready for school and having breakfast, I stopped by Archie to walk to her together. I missed this routine so much! As we progressed, I noticed it a little scared.

B: oh, Arch. You look very sweet when you're afraid -rei bajo-

A: hey! Of course not. It's just that I'll be the new one again. In my other school that experience was not pleasant at all, believe me.

B: Well, that won't happen here because this is your home and we all love you, Riverdale is you. And I will also hit anyone who tries to bother you. "You have my protection," I said, acting proudly. We both laugh-

A: I guess I'll also be able to see Jughead

B: mm..yes... Jughead...

A: Is there anything wrong with which I should know?

B: nothing I can tell you here or at school, Arch

A: Well, then after classes we could go to Pop's, as in the old days. What do you say?

B: Of course, I'd love to!

A: Great then. And you'll tell me what's going on with him so he can make you make that face.

B: OK, OK, I'll tell you, metiche.

He laughed and we continued on our way to school. Once we arrived, the looks didn't take long to fall on my neighbor. We both looked at each other, it felt super weird, and we laughed. I had forgotten the connection we had, since we were children, as if we knew exactly what the other thought or felt.

The first thing we did was go to the address where they assigned his locker that by surprise was in front of mine and then they gave us the key to be able to open it and its list of classes. For our luck we shared biology, mathematics and literature, we would be companions. When all the paperwork was ready, we went to his locker and while he was arranging his things I had to witness a terrible scene: Jughead kissing Veronica just a few meters away. When he separated and saw me, he got serious and looked the other way, everything that night fell on me again in such a way that I didn't even notice that Archie was talking to me. When I looked at him, my eyes were crystal clear, I saw him watching Jug and frowning. There were some small wrinkles on his forehead: he was angry. Even so, Jug stopped when he saw him, and as if nothing approached. Veronica went on her way.

J: hey! Friend, how long. When did you come back? How changed are you?

A: yes. I came back yesterday.

J: Great, brother. We should get together someday, it would be great.

A: Yes, of course

J: -I saw him get uncomfortable- ok... see you later. Goodbye, Betty

He turned around and left. Take a deep breath. Archie closed his locker and didn't even mention what had happened. I am so grateful for that.

A: Is there still our favorite snack machine?

And without further ado we went to her, why was she our favorite? Because he knew how to get potatoes and gummies for free.

We ended up sitting in the stands with about five packages of snacks and assorted sweets, for 10 minutes I had tried to make me laugh and I did it. Where has this man been all this time?

B: first day of school and it's already missing, Mr. Andrews

A: That's bad, isn't it? The math teacher will be very sad because she won't be able to humiliate me with the presentation.

B: definitely - we laugh and ate some potatoes - thank you, Arch. I really needed this...

A: That's what the best friends are for, isn't it? -I kiss my forehead- Good thing I always arrive at the right time, what would you be without me, Betty Cooper?

I smile... I didn't know how much I needed an Archie Andrews in my life, until now...
