Hi guys! I haven't been drawing too much lately, so I haven't posted too much. Sorry abt that :C

But anyways, to make up for it, I've made you all a lighting + shading tutorial!

Alright -

1. Shading.

- First I select the coloring layer and then make a new layer for the shading. I start with a dark color, like the one circled in the picture below ⬇️

- after choosing my color, I start putting a really bulky bunch of lines around where I want there to be shadows

- then I smudge them

- after smudging, I lower the layer's opacity until I think it looks good, and I put it in Overlay

2. Lighting.

-instead of overlay, I put it in Add

-instead of overlay, I put it in Add. After putting Add, you might need to lower the opacity some more because it is very bright.

3. Final Adjustments

- I just play around with the opacity some more, maybe smudge the shading and lighting more, and add more shadows or lights. And then you're done!

Just a few notes:

-you can always add more of anything, and go back to change things
-it's better to use soft airbrushes for the shading and lighting, because if you don't it makes the lines are harder to smudge.
-always remember where the light source is coming from, and it might help to do lighting first so that you know where to put the shading, (opposite of the lighting.)

Andddd the final piece!
