A New Beginning

Jack is a rather slim man, but he's strong. After Owen died he's been angry, and he wants revenge. Revenge on the thing that killed Owen, the thing they named Bloodshed. Before Owen died they found a clip recording, he had explained everything. How the team died, the looks and the name of the creature. The O.W.L.F didn't let him see it nor read it. All they told him was that it was a recording left by Owen and the creature that killed him was named Bloodshed. Jack has been thinking about joining the O.W.L.F to get revenge on the creature, Bloodshed. If he does there's a chance he won't come back, but what they told him about the creature. If he doesn't, the world might not live another day.

Todays a new day though, and Jack still hesitates to join the O.W.L.F. Even though the sake of the world relies on it. Owen was the sole fighter, or so he's told. He could loose, but he might not. The creature needs to pay. It killed Owen, and now he needs to kill it. Jack will join the O.W.L.F, and he will find the creature Bloodshed, and it won't end without bloodshed. All he needs to do is find the O.W.L.F and then figure out how to join them. He had never even met one of the O.W.L.F people, excluding Owen.

Until Owen's funeral, that's when he met somebody named Sean Keyes. He had apologized to Jack for sending Owen down there, but Owen had excepted the risks, and Jack understands that. Unlike Owen, Jack is a reasonable man. He's not as stubborn as Owen, and he cares a lot more, but his skills are no match compared to Owen. Owen had been trained by the O.W.L.F to fight, his skills were practiced and perfected. Jack had stayed near the city, safe. His skills were based on selling and persuading. His skills aren't like Owen's skills in fighting and decoding Predator language.

Owen had always been able to handle pain, but Jack. Jack had a much harder time dealing with it. Owen as a kid had actually enjoyed pain, he told people that it'd come in handy someday. He was right. Jack had stayed away from pain. Owen had always tried to get it, and it seems it came in handy. He was able to take quite a beating. He was smart.

Jack grabs his phone from his pocket. He puts in the number, and the phone rings. Somebody answers. "I've decided to take you up on that offer." The phone beeps. It was ringing while he said that.

-Not long after-

"You've been recruited to the O.W.L.F. You'll be trained to deal with Yautja. An extra-terrestrial being. They have their own language and weapons far beyond our technology. We'll teach you how to defuse their self-destruct, and teach you how to kill it." Jack looks around at the room. A picture of Owen on the wall, a man of legend it says under 'Ghost'.

The Yautja can cloak. They have a light-bending feature. That's what Owen had told me. Of course the O.W.L.F knows that, but it's good to know more about the Yautja, in case they don't tell us about it. Owen said it wears a mask. A biomask. Protects it's face and hides the face. Underneath the mask, they are a ugly fucker. Owen also said something about a black alien. One like a bug, a tongue, or inner-jaw that can break through the Yautja mask, but that's a different alien, and not the one I should be focusing on. Focus on Yautja.

Yautja are the ones that killed Owen, not the bugs. So I will kill the Yautja, the bugs can wait. The bugs aren't here on Earth. By the looks of it, the Yautja will come back, and when they do. I'll kill them, revenge. I will avenge Owen. When I do, the Yautja will be sorry they ever came to Earth. Owen told me he paid no attention to this, but he was skilled. The others did, or so he says. They died first too. The training tells you how to kill the Yautja. not how to survive the Yautja blade.

"Once you're ready we'll drop you into a hunting ground, there you'll practice hunting and tracking." The plane lands. Jack turns his head to look through the large door. A glass door, Jack can see through it. The large green plane's engines turning off, and the noise of the engines stop. "You'll board the plane, you'll be equipped with parachutes to sky dive in. Land together, or die alone." The glass door opens, and they start to walk out. The back of the plane opens and they board. The engines start, the noise loud, but the chatter of the team louder.

The runway long. The plane on the taxiway merging into the runway. The team talking over the engines, weird conversations, but if that's what keeps them calm. Then that's what they can talk about. The plane starts to go up. Jack can feel it start to ascend. Until it stops ascending, and they go toward the jungle. Very far, but they're moving quickly. It won't be long until they get there. Like the guy explaining the mission had said. There's no landing strip, so they'll have to drop in. Drop in together, or die alone. That's how it is out here.

The light turns off, and it turns red. The red lights making it dim, but the noise of the engine telling them they're still in the sky. They grab parachutes and wait for the door to open. Until they hear something hit the roof, maybe it's a bird, or something else. They hear something, a blade from the roof, it comes down nearly hitting the head of a member. It starts to move, the blade cutting the top. Something comes through the newly cut hole. It makes a growling, clicking noise. Jack looks at it. It matches what Owen had described.

It makes a running leap, and it hits the member across from Jack. Pulling him toward the Yautja. It looks closely at him, and it pulls his skull from his body. "Open the door!" Jack yelled. Beeping starts. The Yautja looks at the red light and slashes it. It falls off the wall, a clean cut. It's aim is perfect. It turns back to another, slicing him in half. The ones still alive run to the door, grabbing guns as they go. "Slasher!" one of the members yells. Slasher looks at Jack as he runs to the door. He jumps out.
