                                                             Chapter One

It was a Thursday afternoon and it was the start of vacation. School had ended three days before and I finally could relax without the stress of exams, quizzes, projects, and large amounts of homework. I though maybe this summer I would have fun with my friends. It turned out that I did'nt get to see my friends at all. My mom called my name. "Skylar! Skylar! Help me bring the stuff into the car and finish packing your things! I want you to meet new people, and make new friends this summer instead of sitting in your room all day like a loner on your computer! There's a lot of kids your age in the new summer home!" I never liked the sound of the word "new". I never liked changes.

"Coming mom! I was just decorating my laptop so it would look cool during the summer!" My mom shouted: " Decorate it on the way there! It's gonna be a long ride there so you might as well use that as something to do so you won't get bored."

"Okay mom! I'm gonna charge my laptop while packing so I could watch some movies that I downloaded! Mom.. where are my headphones?" I yelled across the house.

"I packed it for you!" my mom  yelled back. "Thanks mom!"

My dad was getting home from work so he could help us pack and drive us there. My dad was the only person in my house who worked, so he could only come with us on weekends, and then go back home to work. I loved being with my dad. I was always the daddy's girl type. The one who would want to play sports with him, watch football games with him, and tell funny jokes. I mostly made friends through my dad. He is a friendly man, who made friends with people who had daughters and sons around my age. I ran downstairs and brought my mom's suitcases into the car while my two younger twin brothers lied down on the couch staring at the television like it was the last thing they could do. I always knew I was my parent's favorite.. even though in front of my siblings they made it seem like they loved us all equally. That's what good parents who secretly love the oldest more than all of them do. My mom always said I was a daddy's girl, and my dad always said I was a mommy's girl, but Momma knows best, and I do have a special bond with my father. I suddenly got a text from my old friend Kayla. She texted "Hey! Wanna hang out tomorrow? I heard there's this new teens club with frozen yogurt!" I texted her back saying "Can't! I am going to be at my new summer home by then." She replied "Oh, that's too bad because they have your favorite ice cream.. cookie dough!"

I finally replied "Be there in a few!" I put on red colored jeans, a grey shirt with a skull and a beanie. I threw on some makeup and headed out.

I took my keys and of course my mom stopped me right when I got to the front door of the house. "Where do you think your going Missy?" "To a teens club with cookie dough ice cream! I'm just going to be there for a few minutes. I'll buy some ice cream and come back! Okay mom?" "No! It's not okay! You can't go.. without some cash!" My mom handed me ten bucks and out the door I went. "Love you Mom!" I blew an air kiss. "I love you too!" she yelled back at me ten times louder.. like always. When I got there it was dark in the club and I did'nt see anyone. All of a sudden random people yell out "SURPRISE" and "Happy Birthday"! until they got a look at who I was and realized I was'nt the birthday girl who was supposed walk in. Someone yelled out in the large crowd of teens "We wasted confetti on you." I mumbled to myself  "I feel the love". I bought some cookie dough ice cream and left with the feeling inside me of hatred from ratty older teenagers. I was a touchy person when people got on my nerves, even over the stupidest things. I got home and gave my mom the change. She asked me how the teens club was and I just told her that it was full of snobby high schoolers.

                                                              Chapter Two

We had all of our bags packed in the large jeep and left to pick up my cousins who were staying with us for the summer. I got a text from Kayla again saying "Where were you? I did'nt even see you to say goodbye for the summer. I was in the back waiting for you by the frozen yogurt section of the teens club." When I texted her back I did'nt want to mention the whole snot face high schoolers thing so I said that I did'nt feel well, and I left. She called me while I was packing the trunk. "Kayla, I got to go! We're gonna leave really soon and there's no phone reception on the way! "Okay.. Bye Skylar." she said in a sad voice. Talk to you later! Bye!" and I hung up. We packed our last bag out of about twenty and sat in the car. Mom handed us some drinks and snacks for the road. We started driving to my cousin's house so my aunt and uncle could follow us with the cars. While we were driving I took out my laptop and finished decorating it. I guess my mom was right about it keeping me busy on the road. As my twin brothers (Joey and Daniel) scarfed down all of the food, I took out my headphones, plugged it into the computer, and started watching a movie, I was relaxed and did'nt have to deal with hearing the screaming of my sister Samantha and the loud chewing of my brothers. The movie came to an end and I decided to go to sleep. After about an hour I woke up from hearing all of my younger siblings yelling to my parents "are we there yet? are we there yet?" and I decided to listen to some music. In my laptop case, I had a secret compartment with some extra snacks and drinks that I snuck into my mouth so my brothers would notice there was more that they could take from me.
