CHAPTER 25 DEADLY STRIKE

Confused, hearing the chirping of birds not far away, Wen Jing half opened his eyes. His whole body was surrounded by warmth as if he were lying in his bed at home.

He moved his body slightly and a man’s warm voice came from over his head: “Awake?”

Wen Jing blanked out, then immediately sat up with embarrassment: “Senior brother, I slept like a rock last night. Did you sleep at all?”

Jun YanZhi smiled faintly, his slender eyes gazing out of the cave: “I slept a bit. I’m fine.”

Slept a little, but not a good sleep. Dark shadows could be seen under his eyes……

He had originally wanted to leave a good impression on his senior brother, to keep him company and talk a while, but last night how did he end up sleeping like a dead pig?!

The sky was bright and the mountain air was fresh after the rain.

Wen Jing crawled out of the cave and looked up. Droplets of water from the newly green trees fell drop by drop. Landing on his body, they were a little cold.

Jun YanZhi also exited the cave, shaking his slightly wrinkled clothes.

Wen Jing quietly looked at him. He felt the other’s complexion was clear and bright, lips slightly upturned. His mood looked much better than last night.

He couldn’t help but feel somewhat relieved.

Although he was careless and fell asleep, was he, Wen Jing, such an amusing person? After accompanying his senior brother to sleep for one night, that person’s mood was much improved. This could be considered to be quite an achievement……

Lost in thought, he saw Jun YanZhi smile and say to someone not far away: “Second senior brother, we’re here.”

Wen Jing followed his gaze and saw only a dense forest, dark and silent, with no sign of life. Not long after, with a gust of wind, a taciturn man flew in from a distant place.

He Ling, wearing a light grey long buttoned jacket with narrow sleeves, stopped close by and glanced at them with cold eyes.

“It’s time to be on our way. Let’s go.”

Wen Jing was worried.

This was not how things had originally happened.

“Jun YanZhi had left the cave and didn’t return for a long time. Because his spiritual energy was nearby, Liu QianMo didn’t look for him. However, early that morning, his energy disappeared. Liu QianMo and He Ling searched for him everywhere. It was near a cliff that held some peach trees that they found an ancient transportation array. The ground held some faint marks and appeared to have been recently used.

Liu QianMo feared for the safety of Jun YanZhi and wanted to pursue him, but the array remained silent. As it turned out, this transportation array was very old and now held little power. After being used it would be several more years before it could be used again. The voice transmission stone he carried was only good for a range of a few miles, therefore Jun YanZhi was now completely out of contact.”

In other words, Wen Jing needed to quickly find the transmission array.

He had intended to take a walk with senior brother Jun early in the morning in order to take in the scenery and search for those peach trees and the transmission array. He would then trick senior brother Jun into stepping on the array. However, last night he had slept like the dead and had only woken up just now.
