Today was the day.
And Charlie couldn't help but think of the worst ways things would turn out to be.
Well, how wouldn't he, Just as they stepped out of the school compound after class, Jia happened to appear in front of them out of no where.
And Jia being Jia, started encountering them about where they were going and what exactly they were planning to do.
She would have just taken their lies and walked away. But stupid Conner just couldn't keep that stupid giggle from escaping him.
It only made Jia grow suspicious of them.
And Charlie felt nervous that he was now afraid Conner might actually tell her about what they were bringing with them.
And that was the last thing he wanted to happen.
Jia turned her scrutininzing gaze towards Kon.
"Conner, do not lie. Where are ya'll going in a hurry?"she asked him.
"We are not in a hurry"
"That doesn't answer my question"
Jia seemed so intimidating that Josh felt as if Kon was actually shrinking a bit under her gaze.
Anyway, he had had enough of the drama. So he decided to jump in.
"Alright, alright, Jia. The four of us are just gonna have a decent boys' weekend night at Charlie's place, okay?" He said, though he was well aware that "decent" was an overstatement.
Jia just stared at him with narrowed eyes for a little while and then she heaved a sigh, giving up.
"Okay, I believe you" she eyed Conner suspiciously and turned her gaze towards Trevor, who just stared blankly at her. "Have a nice night ya'll" she nodded to herself and walked away, after eyeing each of them, clearly indicating that she was going to bite their head off if anything was to go wrong.
Such a mom, she is..
"Phew! That was close" Conner grinned wide with his hands on either side of his hips.
He was relieved that he was no more under Jia's gaze. She was too intense to be around.
"Thank you for the save, Joe!" Conner beamed, to which Josh answeres with a slight shrug of his shoulders.
A light, yet greatly annoyed click of tongue was heard. "Are we gonna stand here all day or are we gonna leave?" Trevor's face was so full of annoyance.
"Ooh... Someone's excited about the night!" Conner chuckled.
Trevor clicked his tongue and murmured something under his breath. His face had already turned into an expression of disgust.
Patience was never his thing....
"Uh, Trev does have a point. What are we standing around for, anyway?" Charlie shrugged.
"Exactly" Trevor agreed, happy that someone was actually getting the point.
"Fine, let us all gather our stuffs and get going"
Conner jumped and beamed with happiness. He was so looking forward to doing this. "Come on folks, let's go partaayy!"
"Uh.. Conner, not that I want to disappoint you. But this is not a p--"
"Shh! Don't say what you're going to say. You might actually disappoint me" Conner frowned a bit, but that didn't stop him from hopping forward and jumping on to Trevor's back for a piggy-back.
Josh shook his head at the silly boy.
They all walked, occassionally laughing at the funny remarks Conner kept making about Trevor.
