"Good morning sunshine", sang a voice you no longer dreaded to wake up to. Kurtz. He loved you, don't get it wrong, he loved you with his entire being. Getting kidnapped didn't just change your life, it changed his as well. You were all he could ever dream of. Kind, caring and desperate for freedom.

"Good morning, Kurtz, did you sleep well?" you asked, knowing he slept like a rock while you had cuddled him all night. "I slept great love, all because of you, you know just how to make relax" Kurtz grinned. He kissed you on the lips and just like all the other days you kissed back. It was the safest option. It had been 22 days since you lost your freedom and even if you didn't love Kurtz, life here wasn't so bad.

Kurtz would get all your favorite food from Pop's or cook anything you liked over the fire he set up outside. He would let you shower and use the so-called bathroom (a hole in the bus and an old water hose with warm water) alone, chained up of course. You didn't have to sleep next to him or cuddle him, but even if you would never admit it out loud it made you feel weirdly safe.

"It's been 22 and 13 hours since I brought you home darling, you've been the perfect love of my life, just as I envisioned" Kurtz laughed gently while looking into your eyes, his own filled with nothing but admiration for you. "You know I love you, y/n, you don't have to say it back, I want you to mean it when you say it to me". Your eyes widened as you took in the whole experience for the first time. Everything you'd been through ran across your mind like a train. All the bad and all the good hit you in the face like a ton of bricks.

When it all came down to it, Kurtz had been nothing but kind to you since the initial kidnapping. He never showed any ill will toward you and always treated you kindly. Even if you screamed at him, hit him and cursed at him, he had been patient and understanding of your emotions. The time that you got sick he was so worried he couldn't sleep and got you medicine in a matter of minutes. Did you relay long for freedom, or just being free to walk outside with him?

Maybe Kurtz weren't as bad as you had made him out to be. No one had even been looking for you after you were kidnapped. Kurtz had been looking after you and taken care of you as if you were something to be worshipped. You were his goddess. "Kurtz, may I ask you something?" you asked, he nodded eagerly. "What made you fall so deeply in love with me?" a mere whisper escaped you.

Silence. It was his turn to be surprised. He was at a loss for words at your question. In his mind there was nothing more beautiful than you. The world in his hands but he was holding yours. The reason he woke up in the morning, questioning what could possibly make him love her. He was a beast in the purest sense of the word, yet you managed to turn him into a teddybear with your smile. There was always something with you that he admired and loved, ever since he first saw you.

"Why wouldn't I have fallen for you? You are perfection, you light up my nights like the moon, isn't that enough? Isn't your existence enough for me to love you?" Kurtz smiled. Another silence. Could that be true? Could someone simply love you because you exist? Apparently, it could be. It was enough reason for Kurtz at least. The warmth that filled your heart couldn't be mistaken for anything else. It was time you admitted it to yourself.

"Kurtz, I love you"

Hi everyone. It's been two whole years; can you believe it? I've been through therapy, and I no longer feel as bad as I used to. Healing takes time and I'm grateful to have readers like you who have waited patiently for the next chapter. You were all a big part of my healing and even if I didn't always answer your messages, I was reading your comments every day. Thank you for all your positive feedback and encouragement. For all of you I hope to make this book come alive again.
