"You're driving like a maniac!"

"So?"

"What do you mean 'so'!?" Liam exclaims, waving his hands in the air. "You're gonna crash the car!"

"I am not!"

A car beeps at me from the other side of the road, and I swerve out of their way, guiltily realizing that I was on the wrong side of the road.

"Oh my fucking christ." Liam mutters, putting in his head in his hands. "I'm getting fired. I am sooo getting fired."

"Would you relax!?" I shoot him a sideways glare before slowing down my speed by a few notches. "You're not going to get fired because of me driving over the speed limit."

"Maybe not but I'll be getting fired because you're sneaking out in the middle of the night!"

"This is important, okay!?" I take a harsh turn down a street and follow it until the road soon turns to dirt.

"You've still failed to tell me where we're going." Liam declares, looking up through the windshield. "Context would be nice."

"You don't need context." I protest, my eyes swiping back and forth over the road.

"Cordelia, I need to know where we're going." Liam turns in his seat towards me, a pleading look on his face. "If there's a threat that I don't know about and something happens to you-"

"There's no threat." The end of the road comes into sight and I slow down my speed, deciding not to give Liam a heart attack with my driving.

Not today.

"How do you know that?"

I stop the car completely before putting it in park. Staring out the windshield, I close my eyes for a brief moment before opening them, deciding to tell the truth.

"I loved her for months, Liam. I would know if there's a threat in my house."

Not really my house...it was Harry's.

But thinking about it even further, I remembered what he had first told me when he brought me to the cabin.

It was his father's.

Or step-father's.

"I still think it's unsafe." Liam protests, biting the side of his bottom lip. "There could be someone in the-"

"Liam," I slap my hands down flat on the steering wheel before turning my head towards him, my face beginning to flush. "I am going in there no matter what. Whether you join me or not is your decision but you can not stop me from going into my home."

He stares at me for a few moments, almost assessing me before a long sigh leaves his lips.

Growing impatient, I put my hand on the car door before opening it and pushing it open.

The bitter wind slaps against my face instantly, making my eyes close out of instinct.

Damn you Winter and the weather you bring.

Forcing my body to move, I take a few steps forward before slamming the car door shut.

Hugging my arms around my body, I will myself to move forward, into the woods where the cabin stood.

It was hard to see because of the time of night and with the sharp wind constantly thrown in my direction, but I pushed past all the trees and dead brush, finding my way to the cabin.

Or at least where the cabin was supposed to be.

My eyes narrow with confusion as my head moves around, looking for the building.
