Chapter 4 - The Glayders

Merlin POV:

"Merlin, are you ready to go?"

"Yes mom I'm coming"

Today is quite a special day because I will for the first time meet the royal family of fir tree. My parents were invited to celebrate my birthday and introduce me to the court as the official heir of Dawn House. We will stay for about a month at the royal castle, my father told me that Blaine also wanted to renew his friendship with my father.

"I'm here," I said as I reached the front door

"Let's not make the Glayders wait too long," said my mother, we got in the carriage that was prepared for us I sat in front of my parents and I put Lumine on my lap while she was already sleeping

"How's your training going, Merlin?" asked my father, as the carriage was beginning to move forward. 

"Very well father, I think I've mastered the [mana rotation] and I'll start training on [Mirage walk] after that I'll train on my affinity for pure mana", indeed it seems that my abilities resemble those of Elenoir and Sylvie in the sense that I have an affinity similar to her.

"I imagine that his affinity for pure mana comes from his father but what affinities could he have from his mother at last I don't know if the ancient mage had abilities related to mana compared to what you told me Mordain" asked my mother 

"The Djinns or ancient mage also had mana core, their was just more sensitive to aether than other races, you can take the example of all the technologies we use from them that use mana, their mana-related abilities can be considered to be similar to humans with affinities for the four elements and their deviance, Morgane for example had affinities for fire, water and their two deviations which was already considered as an exeption without counting her connection to the aether" replied Mordain

"So I could also discover an affinity for other elements," I asked

"I think you probably will, your affinity for pure mana is already impressive, I think that as humans another affinity should manifest when you move to the orange core" 

I think the orange core is a little late, after having mastered [mirage walk] I will try to apply the theory to which I thought

"We're coming to the gate," said my mother

Now that I think about it I never went through a portal again, when we traveled it was always my father who was carrying me and just flying, While we left the portal I applied had a pain on the right side of my chest 'What was that

"Look out Merlin, it's the capital of the kingdom of Sapin Etistin," said my mother 

Outside looking I could see the whole city expanding between House and commerce but nothing very impressive compared to Xyrus, the only thing that attracted me was the royal castle located in the city, it dominated the whole city and was couple the breath, He could not compare himself to the medieval castle of my Earth surely through magic.

After a while we arrived in the castle, while the coachman opened the door so that we could get out of the carriage. I can see that outside the royal family we wait as well as some guards around them, The Glayder family was exactly the same one I knew the only difference I picked might be the king's face which seems a little less harsh than the one I knew. 

While I'm watching the scene and following my parents, the king steps forward and shakes my father's hand "It's been a long time since I saw you my old friend, the last time was supposed to be the day my daughter was born 4 years ago" said Blaine to my father

"Indeed, it has been far too many years since we were able to talk, even I am pleased to see you again and to see that your children are growing up well"
