Cassy dragged me to the dance floor once I had finished my drink, and our hips hypnotically began twisting to the music. The vision of the man in the dark vanishing from my thoughts. Soon the dance floor began filling with couples or crazed dancers or packs of girls that were just out to have fun. Two guys thin and looking like hungry hyenas stepped up to me and Cassy, Luke looking at us warily, but knowing we could handle ourselves.

The guy behind me was tall and lanky, my height had always been a disadvantage, but most guys seemed to like it. I swayed my hips to the beat of the music, like the goddess I was dressed to be. He rested his hands on my hips pulling me to him possessively, the movement put me on edge, but I was having fun. Twisting, curling, taunting my hips with Cassy behaving like we were alot more than friends, put the guys behind us on the edge of their seats, and the guy behind me dragged me from the floor to a darker corner.

"I think we can have fun over here."His accent was thick, but I couldn't quite tell what it was. I smile politely and gently push him away.

"Thanks but I just came here to dance." I say smiling a bit, as I went to pull from him.

"Oh no little one I wasn't asking!" He growled pushing me against the wall. A soft gasp permitted my lips.

"Get away from me!" I growled angrily moving to push him. However his laughs mocked me as he pinned me to the wall.

It all happened so fast after that, I hardly remember what exactly happened. I had braced myself for the strangers assault, and then in a whirl of lights, I was away from the wall cradled to a Man's side, the stranger picking himself up off the ground cursing as his friends checked on him.

I could smell a musky scent, that seemed to feed my soul. Like a campfire after a thunderstorm. The man's arms were strong and powerful, definitely able to cause damage to the stranger. His cotton shirt was soft in a just purchased kind of way. I was guided to the bar where he loosened his protective stance on me, and ordered a water and a shot of whiskey.

"You should be careful of who you torment on the dance floor." His voice growled at me sending chills over my skin.

"Umm thanks... I'm -"

"I don't care." His voice was cold and undeserving but still was water to my soul in a desert wasteland. I stared at him dark hair the color of chocolate maybe black, his eyes looking as if the galaxy shimmered behind them. His face flawless chiseled from perfect porcelain then stained by kisses of the sun. His height not towering, but made me feel inches tall even if I could lean in and run my lips over his collar bone.

Taking me seconds to realize my words, he tossed me the bottle of water. Looking me over a almost amused look in his eyes.

"Don't get in trouble again." He scolded with a cold tone. "I won't always be there to save you." At his words he walked from the bar and I watched him vanish into the crowd Cassy and Luke running to my side.

"Who was that?" Cassy inquired watching tall, dark, and handsome leave. "Do you know him? !"

"No..." I answered her honestly but deep down in my trembling heart I wish I did.
