Prologue

Jade's pov

"Happy Valentines Day mom! We love you!" I shout with my brother when we entered the room and kiss my mom's cheeks.
"Happy Valentines Day too my sunshine" she says weakly on her bed.
"How are you today mom? I missed you so much" I said while hugging my mom.
"I'm feeling better sweetie, I've missed you too" she said.
"Good then it means youll come to my graduation this year right?" my brother asked. His name is Ashton. Ashton usually comes to hospital when he's not busy with schoolworks and football. It's his senior year so he's putting a lot of effort to go to college. I have a different school with Ashton because I want my school to be close to the hospital. Besides that, I know deep down on his heart, he felt pain in his heart whenever he sees my mom lying weakly on her bed.
"of course I'll come. What kind of mother do you think I am?" my mom said, a smile plastered on her face. "You know if I can't make it, I'll make sure I watch you're graduation right? or maybe I'll be there looking at you from above" My mom reassure. "Please don't talk like that, I hate the thought of dead, seriously stop okay?" My brother rants. I love my mom so much. Shes a very tough woman. She always teaches me how to be a strong woman even when shes not one at all But i appreciate it and always learn from her. Maybe you guys didnt know, but its been three years since the doctor said that my mom had cancer and its been 8 full months my mom lying on this hospital's bed and follow all the kinds of treatments.

My Dad comes a lot actually but not lately because he's too busy with his work. My mom always understands about all of our activities.
Its quarter past 8pm. And im still lying next to my mom, Ashton and my Dad went to the cafeteria to buy some food. I didn't mind accompany my mom everyday. Especially this day, its valentines day! I would love to spend all this day with my mom than with boys.
"Mom. What would i do when you're gone?" I said holding all the tears. I felt something in my heart right now. Something that doesnt feel right.
"what are you talking about? Remember ill come to Ashton's graduation right?" she says with a smile while brushing my hair slowly.
"yeah i remember that. Ashton would be so happy when he see you in there" i answered.
"why didnt you move to your brother's high school? Beside hes already asking you that for a million times" she asked me again
"I have told you mon, I want it to be close to the hospital" I said still thinking.

"I understand that hun, but its okay though as long as you come here" she said. Maybe shes right. I know the quality of my school. Its not that great because I chooses a random high school.
"when you get home, i promise you ill move to his school" i said facing my mom. She just smile so weakly. Its hurt to seeing my mom like this.
I just close my eyes after that and hearing my mom says "i love you" to me. Shes brushing my hair, my smile grew bigger. I love it when she said i love you to me. Even when Its so slow that I cant almost hear it. So i face her and say i love you too. I closed my eyes right next to her.

I've been awake by a loud long beeping monitor. My sleep only felt like seconds. Nurse and doctors came rushing in, Dad picked me up from the hospital bed as fast as he can, I see Ashton crying next to us. What is happening? Why are they running? Where are they taking my mom? Why there's only one straight line on the monitor? Is this a dream? Please, someone wake me up.
