That Man Next Door

Dana arrived in their house with many thoughts running inside her head. Iniisip nya ang mga nangyari kagabi. Ang naaalala nya lang ay nung saglit silang nagkausap ni Hendrik and she lost her consciousness then there's this feeling that she remember but at the same time she don't. Napahilamos na lamang sya sa kanyang mukha at sinubukan nya namang iisipin kung ano ang isasagot nya sa fiancee nya kapag nagtanong ito kung bakit ngayong lang sya nakauwi. 

Ngayong naisip nya iyon, napansin nya rin na tila ang tahimik ng bahay. "Matt??" Tawag nya pero walang sumasagot. "Matthew?" tawag nya ulit sa pangalan nito pero walang sumasagot. Tumayo sya para sana hanapin ito sa bahay ngunit biglang bumukas ang pinto. 

"Matt? Anong ginagawa mo dyan?" Dana looked at her fiancee at sa hitsura nito ay kadarating lang rin nito.

"Hon,. You surprised me." aniya at saka lumapit sa kanya and gave her a peck on the lips. 

"Oh, did I? Anyway, saan ka galing? Bihis na bihis ka ata." tanong ni Dana sa kanyang fiancee na patungo sa kusina. "Work. Remember Mr. Vedasto?.." said Matthew and drinks a glass of water, "...He asked for a dinner meeting to talk about the company's proposal and he'll be investing." Matthew said and grins as he tells the good news to his fiancee.

"Really hon? Oh my gosh, congratulations!" Dana exclaimed at saka niyakap ang fiancee. "Thank you hon, I told you, I cand do it. Wala ka bang bilib sakin? Fiancee mo ata to." Matthew replied and kissed Dana's forehead.

"What about you? Mukhang kararating mo lang rin from the party. Did you have fun with your cousin?" He asked. I paused for a moment before answering him.

"Yeah hon, kahit busy sya sa mga flings nya." I said and frowned to hide my nervousness. "Sige hon, akyat muna ko sa taas. Ligo lang ako tas ipagluluto kita." paalam ko sa kanya. 

"Uhh..hon kumain na kasi ako on the way here and I have to go to work today." aniya.

"Oh...is that so? Okay." I said at saka kinuha ang bag sa may sala bago umakyat sa second floor kung nasaan ang kwarto namin."

Nang maisara nya ang pinto ng kwarto ay nanghihina syang napaupo sa kama.

'Natatakot ako. Anong gagawin ko?' isip ni Dana at muli ay pilit nyang iniisip na ayos lang ang lahat at kakalimutan nya na lang ang nangyari sa pagitan nila ni Hendrik. Isang gabi lang iyon at hindi naman sila magkakilala kaya malabo pa na magkita ulit sila.

Hendrik arrived at the company with a serious face. Every staff in the lobby greeted him as he walk to the elevator with his assistant who's waiting for his arrival.

"Sir, Engr. Hughes wants to talk with you this afternoon regarding the construction of the new establishment at the Bentchester Island."

"Do I have a free time later?"
"Yes sir. You have an hour between your two meetings at the afternoon and after that you have to attend Ms. Valentini's party at the evening." his personal assistant said.

"Then call Engr. Hughes and tell him that I have only an hour to spare for him." Hendrik said and went to his secretary who's already there and opened the door for him.

"Oh, and also Caelus, I want you to look into something. Liezel can do some of the jobs I gave you." Lumapit si Hendrik kay Caelus and whispered the thing he wants Caelus to do.

"Yes sir." Caelus replied and then he excused himself to call someone.

"Liezel, nandito na ba lahat ng kailangan kong tapusin ngayon?" tanong ni Hendrik at saka kumuha ng iilang papel at tinignan ang laman non.

"No sir. These are just the most important papers that needs to be taken care of by you. Nasa desk ko pa yung iba." Liezel replied.

"Dalhin mo dito lahat."

"Yes sir."

"Okay. You may go now." Hendrik said at saka umupo sa kanyang swivel chair at kinuha ang unang folder na nasa ibabaw ng ibang folder sa kanyang table.

Liezel stayed trying to tell him something and in the end she did because she thought that it should be fine since it's his mother. 

"Uhh sir...about your birthday next week. Madam wants you to attend the party she prepared for you. She also said that if you don't attend that event she will arrange a marriage for you." Liezel said and gulped.

Hendrik sighed. "Mom called the office again? You must've experienced her unending nagging. Fine. Tell her I'll be attending." he said. 

His mom is really pushing him to get married already.

"Yes sir. I'll tell her right away." Liezel said and walked out of the office as fast as she could without creating much noise.

Napailing na lang si Hendrik at tinuloy ang kanyang ginagawa.
