"Breakfast~!"
Tyler hears his mom shouting downstairs for him. But— obviously, he was already awake. Leaving the room in a rush, Tyler sits on the handrail and slides downstairs to where his mom would be waiting for him, crossing her arms with a 'serious?' expression.
"S... Sorr—"
She interrupts him.
"It's dangerous. We already talked about this."
She holds his cheeks and pulls him close to give his cheeks a biiiig kiss.
"Muuuuuum!"
Tyler grunts, embarrassed. He wasn't a child anymore. She would then chuckle and let him go.
"Go now. Your dad is waiting for you."
Tyler's eyes widened, a big smile appeared on his face.
"Daaad's home already!? Heck yeah!"
He gives himself a little excited jump before quickly heading towards the kitchen, and in the 'pool' beside the counter, his father would be sat by its edge, eating a toast probably made by his mom. His 'fish' tail was as shiny as ever.
"Daaaad!"
"Flishling! Haha— woah, careful. I don't want soaked toast for breakfast!"
His father chuckled as Tyler would knee down and give him a tight, loving hug. The bigger male would then lean his arm behind Tyler's back, caressing his cute and dark curly hair.
"How was the family meeting? Did Aunt Nerissa ask for me?"
His father gave a quick glare at his mom behind Tyler, who was crossing her arms with an arched eyebrow, smirking. Then, he returns to looking down at Tyler, pretending to be holding a secret.
"Well, she did... she said old Mr.Bubbles' also misses you."
'Mr.Bubbles' was a dolphin his dad and aunts adopted a long time ago. It soon became a part of the family, and... Tyler's specific favorite family member aside from his parents.
"R... R-Really!? I can't wait until I'm 18... I want to speak dolphin language so badly. I have to tell him I love him!"
His mom would chuckle gently, kneeling behind him and giving Tyler a hug as well.
"I'm sure he already knows... right, love?"
She pinched his dad's arm as he seemed to be finishing the toast she had made him. He would cough and then put down the toast, hugging back both of them.
"She's right. Ain't no way somebody can't know when you, out of aaaall the fishes in the sea, love someone."
Tyler chuckles, hugging them a little bit tighter. They stayed like that for a while before his dad had to go again. After that specific day, Tyler and his mom would only see him every 6 months, which bothered Tyler the most. But— despite all of that, Tyler never hated his father for that, and his mom respected that a lot. She thought Tyler was a very strong boy despite his age. Although she was just another human, she was always there for him, always.
