His town could be the most ugliest town around the year, but when Christmas came, it instantly became the most gorgeous town he's ever seen. The Huge Christmas Tree downtown, the town decorated with pretty lights, White blankets of snow covering the trees, ground, and houses. When Christmas came around, people would gather up and go down town to watch the tree light up. Family together playing on rides, eating goodies, and grabbing presents. Anyone from white to black was allowed, homeless, rich. It was a time that the city actually felt like everything was peaceful, everyone was a family, and there's not much moments that felt like that. The place looked like a winter wonderland, and his daughter was excited to see all it. She dragged him along the entire event, not wanting to miss anything.
He was carrying his daughter on his shoulders when his eyes finally caught her. Above him, his daughter fingers point over to the direction of the deers, his hands rested on her knees to keep her steady, shouting about something she learned in school but he didn't hear her, all he seen was the woman that suddenly left the two of them. The woman he sworn years ago was the love of his life.
Her chin rested on the top of his head, looking down at him. "Daddddyyyy," she sung, pressing her fingertips into his cheek to get his attention, gracefully succeeding. Her father quickly stammered out a rushed, "Huh? Yeah, baby-girl?" Like a child would, she giggled.
"Can we go play on the sleighs now!?" She exclaimed, He chuckled, that was the only reason she truly wanted to come. As soon as the words sledding slipped his lips, she screamed yes. It didn't take long for his response, "Alright, kiddo, let's go."
The walk towards the hills wasn't far, but the way the weather was made him feel as if it was taking ages to get there. The hills were luckily near the concert, and It was nearing 6 o'clock, which means that they'll begin the show sooner or later. The sound of his daughter's giggling echoing was way better than anything the performers could play, dropping his gaze to her. She exclaimed out, "I caught a snowflake on my tongue daddy, see!" Sticking out her tongue for him to see, he smiled although the flake was long gone, melted away on her tongue.
"I see it, baby. Now, Go play, I'll be here waiting." He says to her, handing her over the string to her light green sleigh. She eagerly took the string from his hand, turning to rush down the hill, her fluffy winter-boots making small footprints into the white snow.
She was bundled up in a brown heated beanie, with a white puff ball ontop - she could tell Terrence just threw the hat on her, most likely not wanting to do all of her curly hair - to match with her brown puffer jacket. She was just as pretty as she last seen her. Taraji slowly neared Terrence, quietly and non-hostile, not wanting to make him angry or scare him.
"Terrence?" She softly called when she was near enough.
He swallowed, thickly, at the voice behind him. Sounding so near but yet so distant. Shutting his eyes closed tightly, he exhaled a breath. He knew she was going to come up to him, so why hadn't he prepared himself? He thought the first time he'd see her or hear her voice again that He'd be angry so why wasn't he? He finally turned to face her, whispering a gentle, "Taraji." Her hair was pulled back into a slick ponytail, dark blue beanie on the top of her head, covering her ears. Hands deep into the pockets of her zipped up dark blue coat, eyes flashed with a feeling he most likely would never understand or figure out. And he hated to admit it but she looked damn good.
