This morning he was awoken by the sound of Christmas carols, and the divine smell of a Christmas breakfast. Eggnog, hot chocolate, biscuits, waffles, bacon, and more. Pulling himself out of bed, he slipped into his house shoes. He tied the strings of his pajama set pants that matched with his girlfriend's full set into a bow. Speaking of his girlfriend, He could hear the echoing of her voice while she spoke on the phone with someone, that person surely being her mother. Though she was speaking in a low tone, he wondered what that was about.Scratching at the hair on his chest, He strolled over towards the bathroom to brush his teeth. The song It's The Most Wonderful Time Of Year by Andy Williams began playing through the radio as he finally came out of the restroom. Almost instantly he was met with a kiss on the lips from his girlfriend, his eyes blinked widening not knowing where she came from. After the moment of shock, he flashed a grin, greeting her back with his own kiss.
"Hungry?" She questioned, pulling away from the kiss, throwing her arms over his shoulders. He wrapped his arms around her waist, leaning down to nuzzle her. The two stood there enjoying one's embrace on this Christmas morning for a long minute. At that moment, he thought about how lucky he was to have her. Even after everything that had happened the past year, she stuck beside him, and he was one lucky bastard that she did.
"Mhm." He soon answered, releasing her from his embrace, her arms fell down from his neck, trailing down his arm until interlocking their hands. She trialed them to the dining room. He took a seat at their wooden dinner table, while she walked into the kitchen. A second later bringing in three plates, He cocked a brow. "We got a visitor or something?" He lightly grinned, in response she flashed him a smile of her own. As the time passed he noticed that there wasn't anyone coming and the second plate was for her.
He hummed but didn't speak on it, knowing it'll most likely start an argument. He did make a quick jab at the second plate after she hit his hand for reaching for it, a joke that she glared at him for then laughed shortly afterward. He was happy that they were able to be comfortable with each other, able to tease and laugh with each other. Glad that she was able to let her walls down and be that way with him. He says it a lot but he's one lucky son of bitch.
In the middle of him taking a sip of his orange juice, she suddenly says, "I got you a gift." interrupting their moment of silence. He huffed, sagging his shoulders.
"Babe." He groaned, the two of them had agreed on no gifts this year, but he should've known that she wouldn't listen. Her eyes rolled at him, "you know damn well you got me a gift." She bit back. He merely grinned, Only because she was right. He was glad to see that it wasn't a huge present, just a tiny rectangle box wrapped with green reindeer wrapping paper, and a white bow on top.
Easing the bow off first, he slowly looked up at her. He would enjoy to see this look on her face more often, Her eyes light up, a smile spreading across her lips. A smile that made the unsettle look on his face disappear. He unwrapped the papers off until finally getting to the gift. His smile dropped from his face, it seemed as if everything around him stilled and it was just him and the gift. She unnoticeably eased up behind him, wrapping her arms around his neck, leaning down to his earlobe.
"Merry Christmas, baby." She whispered into his ear, pressing a kiss to his cheek, releasing her arms from around his neck, letting her fingertips linger from the nape of his neck to his shoulder until she was far enough for her arm to drop. He sat there stilled, staring at the positive pregnancy test in his hand. Two minutes passed before a smile tugged on his lips until a wide toothy grin formed.
He just got a little more lucky.
