Inhaling the fumes I passed the joint to Jeordie. The balcony was the perfect place for smoking weed.
Taylor went home while I was in the gym and Georgia and dad weren't home yet. The balcony was on the back of the house overlooking the neighbourhood and the sun setting on the horizon.
My head became light and I felt far more relaxed. Suddenly the balcony door slammed behind us, I turned round to see Ryan staring straight at us.
"So I put Libby to bed, you know you need to be more careful. The window was open and it stank of your weed." He leaned against the balcony wall and Jeordie offered him the weed. Ryan took it straight away. Exhaling he said, "You know your dads proposing to my mom right now? Shes gonna say yes then they're gonna quietly break it to us expecting us to scream and cry. You know what? I kinda like you as my stepsister."
"Same to you bro." I rolled my head back.
The front door slammed shut.
"That's gonna be the last one in a long time." I sighed standing up.
"Doesn't that sound fun." Jeordie sighed.
"Ryan, Jeordie's staying here a while, can you act like he's sleeping in your room? Throw a duvet around and make some mess." I asked.
"Where's he actually gonna sleep?" Ryan smirked eyeing Jeordie. Wow, big brother instincts already? I'd only known him a week.
"Where do you think?" I laughed back, glancing at Jeordie as I said it.
"Maybe this sobering up thing wont be so bad." Jeordie shrugged.
"Whatever, you gotta climb down there, get your stuff then come back through the front door." I smiled a Jeordie.
Jeordie hugged me quickly then escaped down the fire escape ladder.
Texting Ethan I was fully aware of how against the idea he'd be. Especially the idea that Jeordie would share a bed with me. It wouldn't be naked or anything with the slightest bit of intimacy (no intimacy issues included), but I knew how much I needed someone by me when I was a mess curled up in bed, alone.
With the relaxed feeling still there, I had a quick shower then got changed so the smell of weed was undetectable.
As I was drying my hair, Jeordie poked his head around the door.
"Hey, put your stuff where ever." I smiled brushing my hair into a loose plait - or braid - I stood up and smoothed out my jeans. Jeordie dropped his bag in the corner of the room then sat on the edge of the bed.
"So Ryan will tell our parent you're going through a rough time with your parents and need a place to stay." I shrugged sitting down next to him. After a long silence I said, "Do you wanna watch a movie?"
With half an hour of debating which movie we settled for my favourite, Zombieland. Jeordie hadn't seen it so I insisted he had to watch it. The movie is the best zom-com ever with a great ending because although is a happy ending its only happy for a certain group of peope, the rest of the world is in shit.
As we lay on the bed I shuffled closer to Jeordie, he wrapped his arm around my shoulder and we ended up cuddling throughout it. I could feel him begin to heat up and his heart pounded against my ear. He needed to cool down.
"I... I'm gonna be sick." Jeordie said getting up quickly, he ran into the ensuite and I could hear him throwing up the contents of his stomach.
Coming back with a glass of water, Jeordie curled up on the bed, the innocent, helpless look in his eyes forced me to hold him tightly. Reaching over Jeordie I got his bag and searched through it, finding the pack of cigarettes I took Jeordies hand and led him out onto the balcony so he could have one.
