She ran away from him, laughing as he closed the gap between them. "I swear to God, Mase. If you fucking tickle me." He caught up to her, grabbing her by the waist and spinning her around to face him. His heart skipping a beat as she cupped his face in her hand, looking directly into his eyes. A smirk slowly appeared on her lips, as her hand snaked down to his lower back. He held his breath, his gaze fixed on her. He desperately wanted her to kiss him and stop teasing but she instead poked at his bottom and began laughing.
"Florence Georgie Martin, I will get my revenge."
He broke the distance between them, tackling her making her fall back onto the bed. "You love me, really, Mason."
"You're grim."
The couple lay in silence, Mason on his side, his head perched on his hand. "You're so beautiful!"
Florence laughed at him. "You're grim." She mocked him. He pouted at her, poking her side. They stayed there, in silence, scrolling through their own phones.
"Look, babe! He's available. I want him so bad." Florence shoved her phone in front of his face and was met with a puppy on her screen.
"Flossie, baby, would you want to go meet him?"
"Mason Tony Mount, you've just made me the happiest woman in the world!"
Mason pouted, throwing his hand on his chest, feigning hurt. "You should've already been the happiest woman in the world."
"I will be, if you stay with me tonight."
"I wasn't planning on going anywhere."
She snuggled closer into him, resting her head on his chest. His heartbeat echoed in her mind, every single thump played a sweet melody. A reminder that every single decision and event that has happened led her here, by his side. The warmth of his body as he wrapped his arm around her spread through her body like the warmth of stepping into a hot bath on a cold winter's night. Even if she had lived a thousand lives, she had hoped she would find her way back to Mason. To Florence, this was the greatest thing she could possibly imagine. Before she had met Mason, it felt as though she was just coasting. He reminded her of just how good it could get. He was the light at the end of her dark, never-ending tunnel.
Mason finally broke the silence after he noticed Florence checking to see if he was still awake. He smiled at her as his deep eyes met hers. "What's up, darlin'?"
"Sash said that her and Jack are coming down tomorrow and that we should double date. Sounds vile if you ask me."
"You couldn't pay me one hundred mil to go on a date with you. Loser."
"Declan prefers me to you."
"Take that back."
