What are you talking about? America is not going to be destroyed
Never? Rome was destroyed, Greece was destroyed, Persia was destroyed, Spain was destroyed.
All great countries are destroyed. Why not yours?
How much longer do you really think your own country will last? Forever?
Almost everyone can remember the day everything was taken. I remember it clearly, as though I was still living it. Every color was brighter, flowers so filled with color it was as though I was dreaming. The leaves and the sky held strange colors though. The leaves seemed almost blue, while the sky constantly changed colors; purple, red, pink, green... it was burned forever in my mind. Hours I spent observing the bizarre changes when the first bombs hit. I was thrown sideways into a tree... after that... there's nothing.
I walk around the compound nodding at a couple who, like most of us, looked ready to escape. I sigh, continuing to walk towards my room tears filling my eyes. I crouch next to a wooden chest in my room and open it, beginning to look at its contents. A photo of me and my father before he left for Iraq, one of my mother and father at their wedding, and many of my father's funeral. I finally pull out the flag my father had given me the last time I saw him.
"You miss them a lot don't you, Lilith?" the voice causes me to jump and I spin to come face to face with Felix. I stand up with the flag still clutched in my arms and face him.
"My father died in a different country to promise mine and my mother's safety! My mother was killed because they jeopardized that safety by being cocky! This... FAILED country killed my family!" I hiss tears falling on my cheeks.
"Lil calm down. It's gonna be ok." he says brushing my curls out of my eyes. I look into his silver eyes knowing my loneliness was shadowed within my own light brown ones.
"Is it? You've both your parents and your twin." I mumble turning from him.
"My twin isn't dead because of you." Felix says.
"I can't even look at Mycha anymore!" I whisper paling at the thought of being faced with the light brown haired Christiansen.
"Lilith, he misses you. He loved you so much, you know." Felix says grabbing my wrist. I sigh and turn for the door.
"I'll go see him. We can talk." I whisper, and Felix cheers hugging me tightly.
