Y/n's POV

Being the sister of The Doctor is great, I get to travel all of time and space, meet so many wonderful people and save worlds from certain death. That's until I met her, who is she exactly? Well, she's Kate Stewart of course. Head of U.N.I.T and the woman that I fell in love with, not that she would ever feel the same. When I met her and got to know her a bit I knew that she was my Rose and that's why I had stopped travelling with my brother, to help her protect others by protecting her from danger. Hearing the distinct sound of the Tardis landing I pull out of my thought just as a woman stumbles out of the Tardis and I stare at her in shock as she moves over to me with a grin.

"Jesus christ Doctor, you told me you had regenerated but you failed to mention a few details!" I say as I'm being pulled into a hug by the blonde woman and she laughs.

"Yeah sorry about that. I have one question, how do you stand it? Being like this all the time?" She asks as she pulls away from me and I note a young woman behind her glaring at me. "It's been too long y/n, are you sure I can't tempt you into coming back with me?"

"No, I belong here protecting earth where I can." I tell her and she sighs as she looks at Kate then me and I shake my head. "It really has been too long though Doctor, last time I saw you I believe that you were an old man and Scottish."

"Yes well, change is always good." She says and I roll my eyes at that. "How's my sister been anyway?"

"Busy but I'll let Kate fill you in on what's going on." I tell her and she groans as I start to walk away. "Oh, before I forget Doc. You have some visitors that have some things they have to say to you." I call back to her and point over to where Tegan and Ace were standing without looking back at her making them laugh as they wave at my sister. Wow, that's going to take some time to get used to.

"Y/n, can we talk? Properly please? I haven't spoken to you since you left." The Doctor calls after me and I finally turn to look at her with a small smile. "We haven't talked since you told me-"

"I know and I'm sorry for that I really am but there just hasn't been time to talk Doc and if it makes you feel better I haven't talked to anyone about it and I don't plan to. I saw what you went through Doctor and I remember how I felt last time. There's nothing to talk about, just because I feel something doesn't mean I'll act on it." I tell her before nodding at Kate and making my escape. I feel bad for avoiding the Doctor, I've not seen her in atleast three years and I'm almost positive she has something to say about the whole Kate situation but I just can't handle talking about it all, especially when there's nothing to talk about because I won't risk getting my heart broken all over again.

"You can't hide from her forever, you know that." Osgood says as she catches up to me and I chuckle.

"Which one are we talking about?" I ask and she smiles at me. "I know that I can't Osgood but there's more pressing things at hand than feelings. They get in the way and then you get hurt, no one's getting hurt on my watch."

"Especially not Kate." She says and I pull her into a room with a glare. "You might have wiped her memory of what happened but you didn't wipe mine, you told the Doctor that Kate's your Rose. What does that even mean?"

"It means that just like the doctors ninth and tenth regenerations I've fallen in love with someone that I can never be with." I tell her and she looks at me pointedly. "The only difference is that Rose loved him back whereas Kate never has and never will. Hence why its not important. What is important is saving the Doctor from the Master." I tell her before storming out of the room to figure out a plan. Finding the Doctor still with Kate I walk over to her and grab her arms making her look at me before letting our minds meet to show her my plan.
