"And they all lived happily ever after The End" your grandmother narrated you loved her stories you loved how she made them seem as if you were living the life of the person she was telling the story about. You loved how she would always make them fun you have a big imagination and your grandmother loved that about you.

"Whatever you do Y/N don't let anyone tell you that you don't deserve a happy ever after" she one time told you after she read you a story she made up once again and that always stuck with you.

And no matter how many words of wisdom your grandmother gave you you believed it every last thing. She loved you and all she wanted was what was best for you she saw success in your eyes. She saw a young woman who would change anybody's life just by walking into it.

No matter how much you wanted to make your grandmother proud you felt like you haven't done just enough all the time your parent told you "to keep going" or only acknowledged you when you have good grades you felt useless.

"Your parents only want what is best for you dear" your grandmother would say as she looks over at her wife cleaning up around the house. And you would only nod your head "don't stress dear just know you are a successor in my eyes and you always will" she said one day.

Starting high school was complicated you didn't fit in with anybody, and you tried to change the way you act the way you dress just to fit in and it still wasn't enough.

You never went out on dates, never got asked out to parties (even if you were to get invited it's not like you would go, to begin with), and your crushes never even glanced in your direction, you started to feel as if it was you, so you started to isolate yourself, get quieter, and you kept everything to yourself.

19 years old and still nothing has changed you felt as if your grandma was lying to you, you felt betrayed and hurt even but you still didn't give up just to please your parents.

"Do you ever feel as if the world hates you?" your friend Ariana whispers jotting down notes. "Sometimes why" Isadora answers as Ariana places her pencil down and sighs "I feel like everyone has it easy, maybe I'm saying this because of all the racism I have experienced in my life"
