Chapter.01 - A Struggle For ‘Redemption’.

"Our home, our outback will be in the sky,
You'll be the moon and I'll will be star
Only I'll have right to watch you closely,
People will watch you from afar.
meet me at midnight, at the forest of dreams,
We'll count stars that shimmer above the tree.
Our emotions will flow like pure little stream,
I'll sit near you, my heart will beat fast, and my soul will be free."

                                                                                            - Neh Parekh (translation by Sakina .K. Lalani)

THE cherry blossom month in Seoul of South Korea the country of love, peace and harmony where love knows no bounds. As the final bell rings, signalling the end of another school day, students spill out of the building and into a world transformed by the arrival of spring. It's cherry blossom season in South Korea, and the air is filled with the delicate scent of blossoms and the excited chatter of students.

The school is located at University Kyung Hee’s neighbourhood, lined with cherry blossom trees that are in full bloom. The soft pink petals create a dreamy atmosphere that seems to envelop everything around. The trees swayed gently in the breeze, showering the ground with a soft carpet of petals. As students make their way out of the school gates, they are greeted by the stunning sight of a nearby park, filled with rows of cherry blossom trees in various shades of pink and white.

The park is crowded with families and couples, all of whom are taking advantage of the beautiful weather and the stunning backdrop. In the distance, the sounds of traditional Korean music can be heard, providing a tranquil soundtrack to the bustling scene. The music is being performed by a group of street performers, who are gathered under a large cherry blossom tree, playing on traditional instruments and wearing traditional Korean dress.

As students make their way home, they pass by vendors selling all sorts of cherry blossom - themed goods, from sweets to souvenirs. The streets are lined with colourful lanterns, adding to the festive atmosphere. As the sun begins to set, the cherry blossom petals take on a golden hue, casting a warm glow over everything around. It's a magical time in South Korea, and the students can't help but feel grateful to be alive and surrounded by such beauty.

The winds were blowing making one shiver in cold, as all kids were rushing to their parents, few to their buses, while Sora watched all the girls hug their father right after getting out of the school gate, while their fathers smile at daughter’s cuteness and love for their father, and picks them up in their arms and embrace them, and kiss multiple times on their cheeks, Sora had only one question printed in her head, ‘Where is my Dad?’, but day by day questions started increasing.

       ‘Was he bad?’
       ‘Does mom hate him?’
       ‘Is he Criminal?’
       ‘Why did he leave?’
       ‘Is he alive?’
‘Is he staying in some other nation?’
‘Why does everyone call my mom single mom? Yunhi’s mom is called a single mom because her       father died, is my father dead too?’

All these questions in her head were making her overthink and turn all the queries into a big mess in her head, she always wondered what his dad might look like, do he look like her favourite idol? Does he look like the doctor uncle in the neighbourhood? Or her best friend Taemie’s handsome father? Or moon-bin’s father? Or her uncle Tom? Her mom never told her how he looked, his name? His personality? What is the reason behind his leave? Why is he not with them?

Sora stepped in the bus and sat on her seat like every day as usual, beside her one and only bestie Taemie, “Minnie! What are you thinking about? You aren’t behaving properly these days, what is wrong?” Taemie said, putting head on Sora’s shoulder “Where is my dad? Taemie” Sora replied, sighing “Once I asked mom where is your dad, but she changed the topic and didn’t let me finish…” Taemie said looking at Sora with the corner of her eyes with concern “That's weird, aunt always replies and never changes topics like that, something is really really Fishy…” She said frowning and thinking more, while Taemie nodded.
