'Good morning father.' Emerson numbly greeted him, as his steps slowly and heavily dragged into the kitchen.

The view Emerson saw was just like every other day. Those beautiful brown eyes she used to look up to, the eyes she used to adore. They were now covered by dark and heavy eye bags from not sleeping enough.

It kind of made her feel sick, seeing his tummy hanging out from the nasty old shirt he has been wearing for years. And even so the bald spot on his head wasn't any cleaner.

Emerson thought as she loaded freshly baked potatoes onto a plate.

Those heavy steps abruptly stopped, which made her freeze for a second. 'Where is Marcus?' He asked, with the breath of alcohol lurking around the room making her almost gag.

Marcus was her older brother who turned 25 recently, her and him have been like two droplets in a pot. They always did everything together, well since she can remember at least.

'He just got called in, i fear there might be rouges hanging around.' She quickly answered placing down a plate full of food.

Emerson stared down at the food with a worried feeling ache inside. Their pack had been under constant watch as there had been signs of rouges lurking around. Which made her feel worry for her and her brothers safety.

'Great.' He said, as Emerson watched him take the first step towards her.

Fear crept up her spine, her eyes couldn't help but watch him at every step he took. I don't know if i should stay still or run. Emerson thought,
from fear she had squeezed her eyes shut trying to find some sort of relief.

She suddenly let out a shriek of pain, when a crashing sensation stabbed through her skull.
He had dragged Emerson by her hair, she couldn't help but scream from the pain it caused her.

But it all doubled up, just as he slammed her against the ground. She landed down with a loud thug, with panic seized into her eyes.
Emerson laid down on her stomach trying to gasp for air. Her organs felt like they got smashed together.

'FUCK!' She cursed abruptly as he slammed his feet on her back. Making another yell escape from her throat with tears forming in those pale eyes.

'Stoop moving!' He yelled stomping on her back harder.

Tears rolled down Emerson's cheeks.

He looked into her eyes as excitement rushed through him. Hearing her suffer nagged something in his brain something he couldn't get out, it made him only more ruthless, only more hungry.

His hand leaned over her mouth while he gently slid his fingers across her lips.

'You don't like to talk a lot do you?' With his eyes all wide and dark he managed to smirk.

She wanted to run away from him, to run away from this fear which followed her every step she took.

He took away her innocence he took away the little girl in her. He wanted to make her believe that darkness was fear, that darkness was scary. But the stars made her think otherwise, her dreams made her rethink everything.

Suddenly vomit screeched through her throat. The fear she felt from her own father, the anger she felt from him.

Tears slowly stopped smearing her eyes, as her cheeks slowly turned cold, her lips were dry without a single word being able to come out.

Emerson couldn't close her eyes as she stared at a picture further down the hall. The picture was all four of them on her birthday when she turned 7. That was the last birthday together with her mom.
