The Arrival

The start of a new year, you're sitting in your room packing for your first day at Nevermore Academy.

Y/n's pov

???: You ready?

You turn to see your caretaker Arjen standing in the doorway

Y/n: almost just gotta pack a few more things.

Arjen:Need help with anything?

Y/n: Na just pass my knife

He throws the knife at me and it lands on the bed next to me. You close your suitcase and get into the car.

Arjen: Hey, y/n I'm sorry your dad's not here

Y/n:  It's fine why would he be, he's the devil I'm sure he has more important things to do

You say as you roll your eyes

You sit in silence for the rest of your ride to school

When you arrive you are greeted by a smaller kid

???: HI, I'm Eugene I guess I'm your roommate for this year

Y/n: oh great

I look over my shoulder at Arjen who just shrugs his shoulders

Eugene: Weems told me to tell you that she wants to talk to the both of you

Y/n: Who's Weems

Eugene: She's the headmistress, come on you don't want to be late

You are pulled away by Eugene left and right through twisting corridors untill you stop in front of the Headmistresses door

Eugene: Bye now I'll see you later roomie

You and Arjen enter the room and are greeted by a tall blonde woman

Weems: please take a seat

You and Arjen both take a seat as Weems starts to speak

Weems: y/n l/n you have an extensive record 4 schools in 5 months, nevertheless I'm sure you'll fit in here

I look at Arjen who just looks curious

Weems: look I know this is different from what you're used to but you'll fit in after all this is a school for outcasts, well I'll get Eugene to show you to your room.

(I've got a feeling i'll see her a lot more)

As Eugene drags you through the school you stop outside a girl's door

Eugene: oh that's Enid, isn't she pretty

You look at him and he looks like a love sick puppy and you hit him on the head, then you look back at the girl Eugene was right, she was pretty

Enid: oh hey are you my roommate?

Y/n: nah, we were just passing by

Enid: well I'm Enid

She extends her hand and you shake it

Y/n: I'm y/n

Eugene pushes you out of the way and eagerly takes her hand

Eugene: I-I'm Eugene

Enid: So, What are your abilities?

Y/n: Abilities?

Enid: Yeah, I'm a werewolf

She says as her nails grow slightly longer

Y/n: that it?

Enid: Well yeah but I'm still learning, so what about you

Y/n: Oh, demon

Enid: Can you show me?

You shrug your shoulders and effortlessly float into the air

Enid: Cool

Y/n: well I gotta go I guess I'll see you around

Enid: bye, y/n

She waves as Eugene rushes to catch up with you

After that Eugene shows you around the quad and after what feels like a million steps you end up back at your room

Y/n: Well, thanks Eugene I better get to unpacking

Eugene: Need any help?

Y/n: Na I'm good

Eugene: Well if you need me I'll be by the beekeeping area

Y/n: We have a- nevermind enjoy Eugene

After that he leaves you to unpack and decorate your room.
After what feels like hours of unpacking you are finally done.
You somehow manage to mostly keep out of trouble for the first half of the year
