Before you start reading, I'd like to preface this by saying that whenever it's in Y/n's POV, it'll be in first person POV. Then when it's anyone else's POV, it'll be more third person-ish. Anyways, have fun reading!

Y/N's POV
It's been a few years since the start of, whatever this is. There's now a few variations of these monsters, which just makes going out that much more dangerous. Awhile back, me and a few friends tried to make a little safe haven with the help of other people, and it sorta worked. We have a little community of us so far, but we don't have walls up. With the amount of these things walking around, we haven't had the time or the people to attempt to make walls.

We have a little group that we made that goes out every day to make sure there's none of them in the surrounding area. At some point we figured at that for some reason, they don't like the smell of vinegar. Which, is honestly somehow not the weirdest weakness that I've seen, but definitely a weird one. Anyways, we hung up containers that hold a little bit of vinegar in them at each corner of the camp in hopes to keep them away.

We figured out ways to still have fun. A lot of the times, we'd play the games you'd see young children play, like tag and hide-and-seek. We have also found quite a lot of board games to play when everyone is exhausted at the end of the day. I usually just go home to my dog till it's time to sleep. We found my dog in the woods one day on the brink of death. He was starving and something happened to his leg. We brought him back and luckily there was someone who had been a vet before all this, and had told us that it was just dislocated, and put it back into place. He's a Small Münsterländer, and I decided to name him something simple, and went with Doug.

"Hey! Y/N?" I heard someone call to me. I realized I had spaced out in the middle of a meeting. Someone of us had held it to figure out how we'd go about trying to gather more people to expand our little community.

"Are you ok? You just spaced on us," said the voice again. I look up and realized it was coming from one of our strongest hunters, Boaz.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine. I'm just thinking," I replied. Everyone else looked at me suspiciously, as if I was planning something dangerous.

"If you say so, but just know that we're here if you ever need to talk," Boaz said. I just nodded to him, and listened in to the rest of the meeting. After it was over, I went straight home and flopped onto my couch.
