I sat a bench, patiently waiting for a particular guy to show up.
I checked my phone, If he doesn't show up in the next ten minutes, that's on him.
I tap on the bench gently, as time ticked by. I was really starting to think Hyunjin stood me up.
As I was collecting my things to leave, I heard a loud 'Wait!' come from behind me. I turn around to see Hyunjin panting, hold his knees to collect his breath.
"You're late."
"I know, I'm so sorry! My boss made me work overtime at my shift and—"
"I don't have time for your excuses, just hurry up and explain so I can leave," Hyunjin's face looked kind of hurt after that.
"Sit down first, I'll start from the beginning," he started. I sat down on the bench again.
"Minnie, I'd like to start off with the fact that I genuinely like you. I know, it may not seem like it since I'm known as 'a playboy' or 'the schools heartthrob', but I really do. What happened that day was a complete misunderstanding. For one, I'm gay, I'm not attracted to females at all. Also, I didn't kiss her, from your point of view, it make look like I did, but I didn't. She was one of those crazy girls who had a crush on me and confessed. When I rejected her, she couldn't take it, so she forcefully tried to kiss me. I'm sorry Minnie, I should've pushed her away as soon as she tried to kiss me," Hyunjin looked down at his hands.
"It's okay, you were shocked, weren't you?" He nodded.
"Do you forgive me?"
I nodded, "I'm sorry too for jumping to conclusions right away."
"It's fine, I would've done it too if I was in your place."
We sat in a comfortable silence as we watched the sunset, but then, it hit me.
