"Chloe! Hurry up! You're going to be late for school!" my mother yelled.
"I'm coming, Mom." I called back.
Great. My second day back at school and I'm already going to be late for classes. I finished brushing my teeth, deciding to skip breakfast and grab a protein bar to eat on the way. I put minimal make up on because of my lack of time and threw on my favorite Superman tank top and cut off red jean shorts. I grabbed my red converse and threw my blonde hair up in a messy bun. My curly wings decided not to cooperate today and fell down in front of my ears. I grabbed my glasses and ran out of my room, down the hall, and to the front room to grab my book bag and threw it over my shoulder. After giving my mom a kiss on the cheek and grabbing a FiberOne bar from the pantry, I ran out to my shiny black Mustang, digging for my keys in my bag.

The drive to school thankfully wasn't more than 8 minutes but I still managed to run into the building just after the bell rang. I ran to my locker before heading to my first class, which happens to be my least favorite, Economics. I walked to the back of the room to my desk, grateful that today my teacher, Mr. Horton, decided to be late as well.
I sat down just as the door opened and as soon as I looked up I froze.
Every girl in this school's secret crush.
The big hunk of muscle that won all our football championships for us.
The panty-dropper of StonyCreek High.
The Chase Rhynehart.
His eyes darted around the room as all the girls whispered, giggled and sighed dreamily. He locked eyes with mine and smirked. I quickly looked down at my desk as I felt my face flush a deep cherry red. I heard footsteps and glanced up again and saw him slowly walking towards the back of the room...
Towards me.
I gulped and looked down again as he kept staring at me. His footsteps stopped right next to my desk.
"Hate to break it to ya, sweetcheeks, but you're sitting at my desk." He said with that cocky voice of his.
I looked up at him shocked. "Umm are you talking to me?"
"Yes I am honeybuns. Now can you move?" he said, shooing me with his hands.
I narrowed my eyes at him. "No."
His eyes widened with surprise at the refusal. Apparently he's never been denied what he wanted before. "What did you just say?" He asked, his voice rising with anger and a hint of amusement.
"Oh I'm sorry. You must not know what that word means. I said no. In other words, move your sorry ass to another desk because this one has been claimed." I was beginning to feel proud of myself for sticking up for myself like that.
That is until I ended up being dragged out of the chair and onto the floor.
Stupid muscleman.
I landed on my butt hard and I was thankful I wasn't a big person or that would have hurt. A lot.
I huffed and stood up. "What the hell was that??" I was enraged he would do something like that to me.
"I was being generous and helping you move so you didn't have to do it alone." He replied with a smirk. I heard muffled snickers all across the room. The nerve of this guy!
"What the hell?? You are a sorry excus--" I was cut off by a throat clearing at the front of the room.
Great. Now he decides to show up.
"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I apologize for my tardiness and I hope I am not interrupting something of great importance." He raised an eyebrow at me.
I had no choice but to grab my bag and sit at the only other seat available.
Right next to him.
This is going to be a great day.
