"Next stop, Hannah's portal," Alex said. Alessia, Benjamin, and Alex got out of the canal. They got to the market. "How long is the drive to Hannah?" Benjamin asked. "The drive is around 24 hours, but you two can always stop and sleep in the car or camp somewhere. I'm gonna give you a map and you can go whenever you want." Alex said and she grabbed the map from a drawer under her table. "This is the map. You will go on a long road and then you will go to a town called Reston." Alex said. Alessia and Benjamin thanked Alex and they went to the car. "Benjamin... What if we don't make it to the portal?" Alessia said while looking at the ocean beside Zandkreek. Benjamin looked at her and grabbed her hand. "If we don't make it... We will have each other and try again." Benjamin said and he still held her hand. Benjamin drove down to the beach and got out of the car with Alessia. They sat down on a rock and Benjamin started pointing his finger at a big skull that was in the city. "The first time I got here I woke up on the top of that skull. People say that the skull is the way back home. " Benjamin grabbed a compass from his pocket and gave it to Alessia. "Here... This compass connects to another compass. I have the other one. When we get back home I don't know the last time we see each other." Benjamin said as he grabbed his compass to show that they connect. "When we get back I'm gonna find you as fast as I can," Alessia said. She kissed Benjamin on the forehead. Benjamin's face turned bright red. "Come on, we need to get to the building if we want to go early," Benjamin said as he got up and they went to the car.

Alessia's POV

When we got back to the car I thought to myself, why the fuck did I kiss him?! What does he think of me right now?! Benjamin didn't say anything about it. We got to the building and Benjamin started packing his bags and putting them in the trunk. I started grabbing random stuff of mine and putting them into my bags. I started folding blankets and I found under my pillow the book we wrote what to do when we got home. "You know, I'm gonna miss this place a little bit," I said while putting the book in the bag. "Me too" Benjamin replied. I grabbed the blankets and threw them in the trunk. Eventually, we were done with the packing and we said goodbye to the building. We got into the car and I sat with my gun beside me that I found in an abandoned store. "Are you ready?" Benjamin asked. I replied with a yes. We drove for 2 hours and we made a quick stop at a gas station to see if they have a bathroom and food. I jumped out of the car and got into the station first. Benjamin was behind my back. In one hand I held Benjamin's hand and in the other hand, I held my loaded gun ready to use if needed. There was no one in the station first. Benjamin was behind my back. In one I held Benjamin's hand and in the other hand, I held my loaded gun ready to use if needed. There was no one in the station so I calmly got to the restroom and Benjamin grabbed snacks. When I got out of the restroom I saw Benjamin's mask on one of the shelves so I covered my eyes "Hey Ben, you don't have your mask on, do you?" I asked "No I don't, but you can open your eyes. I don't have a problem with you looking at my face." Benjamin replied. I opened my eyes and saw a scar on his lips. I came towards him and slowly touched his lips making sure he doesn't mind. "Who did this to you?" I asked while looking at his yellow-orange eyes. He didn't look at me back. "The people from my town... They would start rumors about me that I can curse people and then one day a group of kids older than me started punching and kicking me. That's where I got my scar. I wear a mask because It reminded me how I am different from everybody and how people can be cruel." Benjamin said. The moment he finished I hugged him tight. "I want you to know that I appreciate you for who you are and not because you are something that someone isn't. Got it?" I said while still hugging him. "Thank you" Benjamin replied as he hugged me back. After a long hug, we grabbed some snacks and we went to the car. I didn't want to believe what Benjamin said, but at the same time, it was true. I looked at him and he didn't have a mask. He saw me staring. He turned my way and smiled. His smile was very cute. He turned back. I felt safe around him. I wanted to tell him how I felt, but I didn't know when was the right time. I started to get sleepy and a few seconds later I fell asleep. About 3 hours later I woke up and Benjamin stopped at a small house "It's getting cloudy and rain is about to start. We will sleep here until the rain stops." Benjamin said as he parked the car in the open garage of the small house. I got out of the car to see if anyone was in the house. Benjamin stayed in the car so he can get comfortable. The house was empty so I got back to the garage. Benjamin was waiting for me so I snuggled beside him. My gun was under my pillow just in case. An hour later the rain stooped and we got back on the road. "Ugh! If we continue like this we will never get there!" Benjamin yelled "Hey, It's fine. I don't mind being in the longer than we planned. I like spending time with you." I said to calm him down.
