A landfill. That's I get for all I've done for Anna. For all the times that I was the shoulder she could cry on, for all the times I listened to her talk about things that made her upset, for all the times that I was her friend that would be there for her no matter what, I get paid back with a landfill.
Why Anna?*****
Broken and tear stained, I got up from the pile I was dumped on when I knew that I was alone. I walked around, looking at all the garbage around me. To think that that's how Anna thinks about me. That's devastating.
"Is there someone out there who's as broken as I am right now?" I asked. "Will someone let me cry on their shoulder?"
The answer, of course, was no. Why should I think that there would be an answer? All I am is garbage. Who would talk to garbage?~
A Phantump. As in, the Pokémon Phantump. I still couldn't fathom it.
"I guess they weren't kidding when they said that they were the spirits of children who died in a forest." I muttered. "But I never thought that I would actually become one myself."*****
I wandered around, trying to get used to my new body. It was quite strange, I had to admit.
"Hey, what's that?" I wondered. I saw something moving around and it appeared to be a Banette. At least, it did from afar, at least.I decided to take a chance and approach it. It looked at me with a tear stained face.
"Who are you?" It asked me.
"I'm Mila." I said. "I died in this very forest and became what you see right now."
"Oh." It said. "I'm Renee. I was thrown away by my owner."
"That's horrible." I said.
"What happened to you is even worse than what happened to me!" Renee said. "I'm so sorry that you had to suffer like that."
"Don't be." I said. "If anything, I should feel sorry for you."
"No, you shouldn't." Renee said. "I should feel sorry for you."
"Let's just agree to disagree." I said. "Okay?"
"Sure." Renee said, looking down at the ground. "I guess."
A few moments of silence passed between us before I spoke to her.
"Do you mind giving me a hug?" I asked, looking down at the ground just like she did. "I could really use one."
"Of course." She said, spreading her arms wide. I went into those open arms and buried my head into her shoulder. I wanted to cry but the tears wouldn't come out.
"You can cry." She said, stroking the back of my head. "It's okay. These will be tears that no one will ever see. Well, except for me, of course. But you don't have to fear rejection. I know how it feels. It hurts. I don't want you to ever feel that. I hardly know you, but I'd hate for others to feel my pain."
"Thank you." I whispered as my first tear escaped me. "Thank you so much."
"You're welcome." She said, still stroking me. "Your heart's broken. I know the feeling. I'm here for you though. If you need anything, just tell me okay?"
"Thank you Renee." I said, letting go of her. I wiped away tears and added, "Do you want a little cry?"
"I guess that would be nice." She admitted.
I opened my arms to her and she gripped me tightly. I heard her sniff and listened as her tears came out.
"I just don't understand why she left me!" She said in between tears. "I loved her more than anything!"
"I know!" I said, gently patting her head. "It's okay. It'll be okay. Remember, it's her loss that she'll never see the tears."
"I feel like we're going to be great friends." She said, still hugging me and crying.
"Me too." I said. "Me too."
