Christmas break was just peeking around the corner. As always, you were ecstatic around the holidays, but there was always a downside to students' happiness, and that was final exams.

Luckily you had a study buddy to revise all of the exam outlines with and her name was Riri Williams. Besides being study buddies with Riri, you two were close friends and would often hang out whenever you had the free time to do so.

To be honest, studying calculus was never interesting or fun. In your opinion, calculus was just an unnecessary factor of a class continually weighing you down, nevertheless, you still strived for academic validation from others, including your family.

Since it was crucially essential to her career path in engineering, she resulted in being the top student so she offered study lessons for calculus, personally for you. Of course, they were free of charge to you, it was certainly, one of the benefits of being her close friend, but anyone else would have needed to pay upfront, with no excuses, and no refunds.

Without a second thought, you accepted the kind offer, and three days a week, you found yourself cozied up in her dorm room, faint music breaking up the calm aura as you two munched on brain food and quizzed each other.

Aside from the free lessons, you explored new boundaries with your friendship with the Williams girl. By now, you were accustomed to her flirty banter towards you and frequently snided back with coquettish remarks of your own.

Mind you, your friendship never strayed away from a platonic one. Even though some stares and touches lingered on longer than necessary, neither of you disclosed the imaginary line that you were both crossing.

A playlist of Pentatonix played softly from the speaker on her desk while numerous textbooks, binders, and highlighters were sprawled out on her king-sized bed.

You were reading over the basics of calculus to get a refresher on the concept, regardless, the technique was deemed useless.

The printed words and numbers started to become hazy and jumbled up, an headache was about to form if you went any further. So you closed the book which made the forming headache vanish.
