I sped out the door, running against the traffic of oncoming pedestrians. Weaving through the crowd, I glanced down at my watch and realized I was late. Thinking that this wasn't the first time, I continued at the same pace down the street, making a couple of turns and knocking over one or two people in the way. Like usual, I found the police chasing me. "Get back here, kid!", they both yelled. That's when my adrenaline kicked in, boosting me faster. With the police close enough to grasp me, I made a sharp turn into the street, running straight towards a truck.
Just as the truck was about to hit me, I sprung into the air and landed swiftly on top of the truck. I ran across it and jumped into another car, continuing the process as I moved further down the street. I jumped once, this time landing on the side of a ladder. Moving one hand over the other, I quickly scaled the side of a building. Upon reaching the top, I stopped to take a quick breath and glanced back at my watch. I threw my head around and laughed. The police were nowhere in sight. I ran faster, and just as I was about to reach the open manhole, I was forced to the ground.
As I screeched across the metal building, I picked my head up to see what just hit me so suddenly. I found nothing. I heard clanking footsteps scatter around me, so I ducked and threw my arms in the air, protecting my face. "Wh-who are you?!", I shouted. A blur passed my face, knocking me on the ground once more. My face hit the hard metal roofing and I could feel the warm blood trickle down the side of my face. I touched my cheek, and knew I had been cut from hitting the ground. "Please, what do you want?", I muttered. I received no response but the loud bustling of the city. Slowly, I began to rise and gained my momentum, thrusting into open manhole.
I fell down and laughed as I bounced into the air after hitting a huge matress. A helping hand stretched out towards me from the dark, and a friendly face appeared. I grabbed the hand with joy and the boy who helped me up said "Welcome back to the Hut my friend." "It's always a pleasure, Max"
