Jeremy's POV
The next day I walked into the restaurant, I was completely worried. I looked around, and Evie was nowhere to be found. Oh no. I think she got hurt...Very badly.
"Mike!" I ran over to him.
"Hmm? What?..." Mike mumbled, looking down at me.
"Evie's not here...I'm really scared her father hurt her." Now he had Mike's attention.
"She's hurt. I know it. It's bad. She would've been here if it wasn't bad. Let's go. We have to find her." Mike says and pulls my wrist. We got in Mike's car and Mike quickly started driving. Thank God Mike found her father's license plate, or else we would be out of luck. I soon found the address and Mike drove very fast. She could be dead right now.
We find the house. It was a very small house and it looked like it was going to fall down.
"Stay here." Mike instructs me. I nod and stay seated. Her father wasn't here because the truck was gone. Thank God.
Mike's POV
I bust the screen door open and I walk inside. There was alcohol everywhere and the place wreaked of cigarettes. I wanted to hurl. I walk in the kitchen and that's where I find her frail little body. She was black and blue and all swollen. There was a broken hockey stick next to her. I'm assuming he beat her with it.
I kneel down and I check her pulse. She's alive, but barely.
"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit." She was unconscious. I pick her up and dial 911, explaining the situation. If this kid doesn't make it, then It's all my fault...
