The calm before the storm

Darkness. The void. Cold. Empty. unfeeling. and then flashes of a different time. A throne room. A mangled tree with a knife in it, Blood dripping down the bark.
"Soon you will know what I know" A deceased Hannah plagued my dreams.
"Blood calls to blood. Flesh draws to flesh" Some Greek woman that I feel I should know "Soon all will burn"

I shoot awake in my bed, gasping from the nightmare.
"Hhhhhhh!" I pant. A hand gently taps my shoulder and I roll over to see Loki rubbing his eyes.
"Darling? Are you alright?"
"Yeah, Just a bad dream," I flopped back. My head landed on the pillow.
"What was this one about?" Loki wiggled his arm underneath me and pulled me closer to him.
"I don't know really know. They were all images. An old temple. A tree with blood coming out of it... and this woman, She was saying how it will all burn," I left out the Hannah part. I didn't really want to remember her face with the extra added bolt.
"Hmmm," Loki nodded, listening to everything I said.
"Any idea what it means?" I licked my lips as I curled up next to the strangely warm vampire.
"Not a clue. But we all have nightmares sometimes that cannot be explained," Loki kisses my forehead softly "What matters is what we do when we wake up,"
"You can be really cheesy sometimes, You know that?"
"Only for you," Loki poked my nose. I rolled my eyes and checked my phone. it was 7 at night.
"We should probably get to work, huh?"
"I have a quick errand to run but I will meet you there," I turned and kissed him, Long and deep, Losing myself in the moment "I need to go," Loki kissed me and then hopped out of the bed. He used his vampiric speed to get dressed.
"I wish I could use that," I sat at the end of the bed on my knees "I guess being a vampire has its perks,"
"One of many," Loki kissed me once more. I gripped his hair as I tried to pull him back to bed but the damn man is like an oak. Sturdy as hell. He grabs my wrist and easily pulls me off him. I pout while he smirks "Darling, I need to go. I promise I will make it up to you later,"
"I will hold you to that," I sit crossed leg as Loki kisses me once again and then Vamps speed out of the building "I hate it when he does that," Sulking, I head to the closet.

"What should I wear today?" I muttered to myself. Since being with Loki, I've had more confidence to wear outfits that, Dare I say it, Make me look good (And drive Loki crazy) I decided today that I would wear a black pencil skirt with a tight pink blouse and a black jacket with a silver belt "Okay, yeah. I'll just say it. I look good," With a final twirl, I head to work.

A little while later, I stroll up to my desk at Odinson Corp. Loki is waiting there and nods as I approach. His head tilts a little as he licks his lips.
"Looking Good, Emily. Very good," He adjusts his tie, Loosening it ever so slightly.
"As always," I twirl.
"So, What's on the itinerary for today," Loki tried to be more professional at work. Didn't always work. We both took a seat at my desk. Loki sat down first and crossed his legs. I slowly sink into my chair. Moving closer to him. I leaned over his lap and took the planner out of the drawer. Loki ends up biting on his knuckles. I smirked as I opened up my planner "Little minx,"
"I know" I beam "Let's see... there's a meeting with R&D for a new malaria vaccine, An appointment to help the new candidate for Hogun's Senator seat and of course..."
"The council meeting," Loki pinched his nose.
"Yup,"
"It's still so strange that it's been six months since the feral incident. Six months since the confrontation with Hogun," Loki relaxed a little as he leaned back in his chair "And yet it seems like yesterday,"
"Someone's feeling contemplative today," I smiled as I closed the planner.
"More like adrift. I spent so long working on that bloody serum, To regain my humanity that I am not sure what to do next,"
"Maybe you could focus on me?" I placed a hand on his arm.
"Oh, Really? And how would I do that?" Loki licked his lips, Leaning closer to me.
"I can think of some creative ways,"
"How about we make it through today first and we can discuss that later?" Loki stood up and adjusted his jacket.
"Something tells me there won't be very much discussion at all," I scratched my head as Loki wiggled his eyebrows and smirked.
"Get in that conference room before you get a smacked bottom,"
"Promises, Promises,"

Loki leads me to the conference room where Sif is already seated. They nodded at each other.
"Hey, Sif" I waved as I shut the door.
"Emily, That is a lovely outfit. Is it new?" Sif beamed at me. It's taken six months but she has finally warmed up to me. Sort of.
"You noticed," I grinned.
"Always,"
"So how have you been?" I got to work sorting Loki's papers out, Being the good little assistant that I was.
"As well as can be expected. Given..." She trails off, Looking troubled.
"Is something wrong?" I tilted my head. Even Loki looked worried.
"No... Or maybe, yes. It's hard to tell," Sif frowned. It's been six months since I saw this look in her eyes "I feel something is approaching. Darkness. Dangerous,"
"Well, that doesn't sound vague at all," I folded my arms. I heard Loki chuckle behind me "Still, It ain't good,"
"You think I sound paranoid, Don't you?" Sif leaned on the table.
"A little but I also think you sound bored," I unfolded my arms as I sat on the edge of the table "Once you fight off vampires and almost get killed by Ferals, It makes the day-to-day stuff feel a little humdrum. Maybe all you need is a new perspective,"
"And what perspective should that be?" Sif sat with her leg crossed over the other.
"The 'Wow, How am I still alive?' perspective," I smiled.
"Your confidence is a force of nature, Emily,"
"I try," The door swings open and two council members walk in. I hopped off the desk.

"Fandral, I swear, If I ever catch you eyeing me up again, I will take a dagger to your --" Hela held Fandral by his ear.
"Relax, Hela. I know what you got and I am not looking to buy," Fandral yanked his ear out of her death grip.
"God, You are gross! How are you so gross?" Hela wiped her hand on her skirt "Sweaty bastard,"
"Urm, Hello," I raised my voice a little. Hela turns to face me, Looking me up and down with a scoff.
"You're still here? I must say that I am shocked. Considering how quickly Loki goes through his assistants,"
"Probably not as quick as you go through your houseboys,"
"At least I know not to mix business with pleasure. It never ends well. And I doubt it will for you," Hela walked up to me. She started to twirl my hair around her finger "That said, My door is always open if you change your mind. And you know I will treat you right," Hela purred. I heard a chair move. I know it was Loki that had moved. I held my hand up behind me, Stopping Loki in his tracks.
"You never stop, Do you?" I pushed Hela's hand away. She hated being rejected. But she really wasn't my type.
"It's a gift," Hela smiled as she held her hands up, flamboyantly. The door swings open and Thor enters the room, Nodding at each council member in turn. Hela rolled her eyes and sat back down.

"Everyone. Hope I am not too late?"
"you are right on time" I smiled. Thor looks over at me with a grin. Behind him, a young man scurries in, Taking in the room.
"Nice outfit, Emily. Very professional," Thor nodded at me, his eyes twinkling.
"Oh, shut up, you," I wave my hand at him. I swear I heard Loki growl. I put my hand on Loki's upper arm and leaned in "Down boy," I whispered in his ear. Loki let out a soft growl.
"Oh, My! What a fine establishment this is!" the young man that came with Thor finally spoke.
"And who is this?" I turned back to face the room.
"This is Huggin. he is my new assistant," Thor sighed. Huggin did a slight bow. Thor hid his face. he looked like he was already done with Huggin.
"You have an assistant? Looks like you are really Mr Big Shot?" I beamed at Thor. Loki rolled his eyes and sat back in his seat.
"Well between running my clan and dealing with all my responsibilities here, It felt like I could do with the help," Thor leans toward me as Huggin hurries forward and pulls out a chair, Dusting the leather with a cloth from his pocket "Just a warning, Huggin, he can be a bit old-fashioned,"
"Please sit down, sir. Would you like me to pour some water? Tea? Perhaps some coffee," Huggin fussed.
"Uh, Water's fine,"
"Right away, Sir" Huggin bustles about the conference room while Thor gives me an embarrassed smile.
"Awww. He is adorable," I smiled as Huggin poured everyone a glass of water.
"Is there anything else I can do for you, sir? Perhaps I could rub your shoulders? Or fetched you a snack?" Thor looks to me for help.
"I'm pretty sure that Thor would love a shoulder rub," I smiled. Loki stifled a laugh behind me. Hela and Fandral did actually laugh and Sif hid her face "Seriously, he cannot get enough of them,"
"Wait, No, I--" Thor stuttered.
"Excellent. Hold on, sir. Your shoulders shall be free of tension in no time" Huggin rubbed his hands together.
"... Yay" Thor put his thumbs up, sarcastically. Loki gave me a low five.
"I need a houseboy like him" Hela licked her lips as she watched with hungry eyes.
"Does he have a sister?" Fandral grinned. Everyone gagged.
"Fandral, Just... no" Sif covered her mouth. And once again, The door swings open. Volstagg enters and he is already grumbling.

"Let's get this garbage over with, Shall we?" Volstagg had an upside-down smile as he sat down.
"Pleasant as ever, Volstagg," Sif rolled her eyes.
"I don't see why I had to haul myself all the way over here when my vote counts for nothing," Volstagg spat.
"Excuse me?" Loki narrowed his eyes.
"This so-called council is a sham. Ever since we let some clanless mutt into our ranks --"
"Watch it," Thor growled.
"Listen here, Volstagg, This is how democracy works. Sometimes you end up being overruled. If you don't like it, You can leave," I snapped. Volstagg slowly stood and took a step towards me. I didn't move. I wasn't afraid of Volstagg. I felt Loki stand behind me.
"HA! Democracy my big wet ass. We both know what a broken system that is," Volstagg stood still. His fists clenched.
"It's only broken if people like you continue to cheat the system," I pointed at Volstagg "Also, Why is your ass wet? Actually, No, don't answer that,"
"Enough. It's time we got on with business," Sif yelled. She was the only one that Volstagg was afraid of.
"And let this trollop insult me? I won't let it stand," Volstagg levelled his cane at me. I wanted to rip it out of his hands and snap it.
"Then sit down," I scoffed.
"The sooner this meeting is over with, Volstagg, The sooner you can leave. And the sooner we will all be grateful," Volstagg considers, Then settles in his chair with one last grumble "Smart man. Now then, Let's begin. Does anyone have any topics for discussion?" Loki guided me away from Volstagg.
"Me! I need a newly turned vampire approved for my clan to replace the last asshole I lost," Fandral raised his hand.
"How did you lose this one?" Loki asked.
"The idiot thought he could beat the sun home and well, now I got a spot open," Fandral shrugged as he did a half smile.
"Ugh, Who cares about your clan? Some of us have real problems that need to be addressed," Hela slammed her perfectly manicured hand on the table.
"Like what?" Fandral rolled his eyes.
"Like how Volstagg's men keep showing up at my fashion events to creep on my models," Hela pointed her long finger at Volstagg.
"You have something against my clan, Hela?" Volstagg gripped his cane tightly.
"urm, Yes. They are creeping on my models! What part of this is confusing?" Hela screeched. Sif clears her throat. Although the sound is quiet, It still grabs everyone's attention.
"We'll have to deal with those matters later. Right now, We have a more serious issue at hand,"
"Urm, Excuse me! My issue is serious," Hela kicked off.
"More serious than a wave of human disappearances?!" Sif yelled, Making everyone look at her.
"Again?" I sighed. Just when things seemed normal.
"Unfortunately. So far a dozen or so humans have gone missing from the area surrounding Central Park," Sif threw a load of newspaper clippings on the table. Each council member took a clipping.
"Is it the Ferals again?" I looked at a paper before Volstagg ripped it off me "Hey!"
"Of course not, You dumb Dora. The Ferals don't make people disappear. They rip them to bloody ribbons," Volstagg threw the paper onto the table.
"They kinda do make people disappear" Hela mumbled. I couldn't help but agree with her.
"It has to be a vampire then," I looked at Loki.
"Indeed. Does anyone have any information?" Loki ask. I turn my head to Volstagg.
"Oh, here we go. Have we travelled six months into the past?" Volstagg stamped his cigar in the ashtray.
"You can't deny that you fit the bill," I folded my arms.
"I am a businessman, Not a lunatic," Volstagg rolled his beady little eyes.
"Well. that ain't true. You are kind of both," Fandral added. Once I was grateful for his comment. Even if the man made me wanna hurl.
"This is an outrage!" Volstagg threw his hands up.
"Enough! We get nowhere with baseless accusations,"
"I am open to examining every lead, For now, We should trust the people in this room," Loki glared at everyone.
"Are you forgetting Hogun?" Thor snarled.
"Hogun was a moron who thought too highly of himself," Hela waved her hands before fiddling with her necklace.
"Like some others that I know," Thor muttered under his breath.
"Does SHIELD have leads?" I asked, knowing that Thor needed to calm down. I placed a hand on Thor's shoulder.
"No. And I have already asked Stark. I thought with his tower being closer, he might have some CCTV but it is a blind spot,"
"Damn it," Loki growled "And with the growing celestial problem overseas, I doubt even the Avengers will be able to keep an eye on this city,"
"Which is why Fury has asked us to watch this city," Sif sighed. Volstagg grumbled. he and Fury had what you called a troubled relationship (I mean, Who doesn't) but Volstagg knew how Hydra worked and where some of their generals were so Fury kept him around for that reason. He's a damn good snitch "If no one has any leads, We will just have to investigate,"
"And as for the rest of you, Keep an eye on your clan," Loki stared everyone down.
"Yeah, Yeah. if you have something, Say something. We take the subway. We know the drill," Fandral flapped.
"I have never taken the subway," Hela spoke, Disgusted that Fandral even suggested such a thing.

The meeting continues for some time, Covering minor topics and is eventually adjourned. Volstagg leaves first, Glaring at me. He is followed quickly by the others. Loki announced that he would be in his office.
"I hate that man," I quickly tidy up the paper clippings and the ashes trays. I then duck into Loki's office to find him staring at a map of Central Park.

"All these crossed-out places, Are they where the humans were taken from?" I wrapped my arms around his shoulders.
"I'm trying to find a pattern but I am having no luck," Loki ran a hand over his hair, Wincing when he caught a knot "Saying that, the methods feel precise. Calculated. Flawless. To kidnap a dozen people and leave no trace," Loki patted my arms "What do you think, Emily,"
"I think it could be a vampire," I said, after staring at the map. I unwrapped myself and sat on the edge of the desk "What about the vampires outside the council members? Maybe it could be Tyr? It seems only fair to include him as well,"
"Tyr is a stickler for the rules. Not to mention an old friend," Loki frowned, he seemed to be contemplating something "But you are right. It's only fair. I'll look into him," Loki turns to me with a small smile "I'm going to spend some more time on this. But if you are free afterwards, I'd love to take you out for a meal. There is a new restaurant I have in mind, One I think you will quite enjoy,"
"I think I can free up some time for that," I picked up a folder and kissed Loki on the cheek "I will be at my desk if you need me, Sir"
"Sir? Oh, my dear and here I thought you innocent," Loki grabbed my waist, Pulling me onto his lap.
"urm..." I blushed. Biting my bottom lip. Loki growled playfully.
"Oh no, don't stop, darling. Let's see how deep this particular rabbit hole goes, shall we?" Loki pulled my chin down "And don't bite that lip. That's my job,"
"After dinner. It would be best if you worked on this," I pressed up against Loki. I leaned in and gently kissed him. I then hopped off his lap and walked out of the office and went to my desk.

I step out of the office and Thor, trailed by Huggin, makes his way over to my desk.
"Hey, Emily, I was wondering --" Thor smiled, Softly but I cut off as Huggin cleared his throat and clasped his hands behind his back.
"Miss Emily. We want to extend an invitation to join us at the Thunder Den this evening, Should you be so inclined?" Huggin bowed a little. Thor rolled his eyes.
"Where did you find this guy, Thor? The 18th century?" I pointed at Huggin with my thumb, Looking at Thor.
"Early 19th I do believe. Turned by a clanless vampire, and since then, He and his maker have been in hiding. Living in an abandoned raven mansion upstate," Thor patted Huggin's shoulder "Since being legitimized, More and more formerly clanless are coming out into the open, Joining my ranks"
"It is truly a new era! It's enough to make me feel positively bricky," Huggin spun around. The dude is more flamboyant than Stark.
"He is a little behind on the times," Thor whispered as he leaned in. I nodded "Anyway, The den has been through some pretty big ass changes since you last visited,"
"Indeed, It's true. So, Miss Emily, What do you say? Will you accompany us?" Huggin smiled.
"Huggin, Sounds fly as hell, I'm down," I grinned. Thor grinned as Huggin cocks his head to one side, Frowning.
"I understand those words you just said as individual words but together they seem to make no sense,"
"Really? Are you shaken?"
"I do not have tremors, no..." Huggin seemed to be panicking. Thor was now howling.
"Okay, That's enough, Emily. You're going melt the guy's brain," Thor tried to calm down. Huggin straightened up "So shall we go?"
"Heck yeah," I quickly sent a text to Loki saying that I was going to visit the Thunder Den. I swear I heard him growl. He gets so jealous, Hopefully, he realises that I only have eyes for him.
*PING*
Loki: Have fun darling. Will find you when I am done here xxx

A short while later, we arrive at the Thunder Den. The walls are freshly painted. the stores are new fronts.
"You have renovated!" I smiled. It still had the same style but was definitely a lot cleaner.
"Once my people were accepted by the council, We were finally allowed to breathe a bit. You like it?" Thor smiled as he dismissed Huggin. Who didn't want to leave "Huggin, I will be fine from here on out,"
"I think that it looks great, I bet the others are happy too," I said as Huggin bowed. He left to get his quarters cleaned.
"It feels more like home now,"
"A bit humble. Yet far more superior to the dregs that my master and I were forced to inhabit" I look around and someone starts waving at me.
"Emily! Thor! Long time no see!" Medusa shouts, running over to us.
"Medusa! How are you?" I said, hugging the woman.
"Same old. Keeping busy with the show and all that. Training the new girl," Medusa waved at her friends.
"I am glad to hear it. Hopefully, I will get a chance to watch your show soon,"
"I will take you up on that, Sugar" Medusa winked. She then runs back to her friend.

Thor leads me further into the new and improved den. He lets out a heavy sigh.
"Thor? You okay?" I put a hand on his back.
"It's still so weird, You know. Fighting the council for so long and then suddenly being part of it. I mean, don't get me wrong. I am glad that I did it. It was for the good of my people," Thor stopped at a bench and sat down.
"Of course" I sat down next to him.
"Sometimes, I wonder if I sold out. If I lost some of my fights now that I have this power," Thor looked at the ground.
"Thor, don't be stupid. you have done nothing of the sort," I elbowed the man. Even though it hurt. Damn vampires "Trust me, I still see the same fight in your eyes. It won't go away,"
"I guess I am scared of getting complacent. It took so long to get to this point" Thor looked up at me and then at the den "I just don't want to let my people down,"
"You won't. They look up to you," I hugged Thor's arm "It would take a lot more than a little quiet for you to let them down,"
"Thanks, Emily" Thor smiled, Standing up. He held a hand out "Come on. Someone is gonna wanna see you," I took his hand and Thor led us to the hall.

"Who is gonna wanna see me?" I ask as Thor opens a door. He simply points down the hall.
"BESTIE!" I hear Melody call out. I run down the hall and straight into her arms.
"Melody!" Melody swoops me up in a big hug, Twirling me around "Easy, Tigger. Still not used to vampire strength,"
"Oh please. Loki lifts you way more than I do," Melody whispered. I just blushed "Besides, It ain't all vampire! Look at these guns. Pew! Pew!" Melody flexed, showing her non-existent muscles.
"I ain't even going to acknowledge you just did that. What are you up to?" I asked. Melody drags me over to her computer, showing me a laptop monitor covered in scrolling code.
"Tinkering with my new social networking app. You know, the one for vampires and other supernatural beings,"
"I still cannot believe that this thing has caught on," Thor muttered.
"That is because you are an old man. And blame Darcy... Young vamps like me need some connection. Watch and learn" Melody takes out her phone and taps on an app icon with a pair of fangs "So, We gotta be careful that no human gets in here, Right?"
"Right," Thor and I both said.
"So in order to access the app, You need to take a photo of your brand. No brand, no access,"
"So that is why you needed a picture of our brands," Thor pouted as he nodded "That is actually really smart,"
"Don't look too shocked. You forget that I used to work for Stark too. He taught me a lot about coding. As did my uncle,"
"Speaking of him, Is he calmed down now? Is he cool with you being a vampire?" I asked. Melody wiggled in a yes/no sort of way. She finally told her uncle that she was a vampire and safe to say, He went off his nut at Loki and at me, Which then resulted in Loki threatening to rip his throat out. It took both me and Melody to calm both men down.
"I think so. I mean he is the only family I have. I think that he is just happy that a Fury will always be around,"
"So, what is this app's name?" Thor asked.
"Don't laugh but I am still working on the name. But what do you think of Fangbook?" Melody picked her nails. Thor slapped her hands this time. Normally, It's my job but Melody always being at the den. I asked Thor to keep an eye on it.
"I like it," I nodded while grinning. Melody started to bite her nails. Thor pulled her hand away from her mouth.
"Yeah?" Melody looked nervous.
"It has a certain ring to it, you know," I shoulder-bumped my bestie.
"the ring is absolutely the most important part,"
"I have never felt this old" Thor pinched his nose.
"Get used to it," Both Melody and I said. I then caught a glimpse of the clock on the wall.
"It's getting late. I should go find Loki," I pulled my phone out of my pocket. No calls or texts.
"You sure? I just heard about an awesome new club I wanna try," Melody jogged on the spot. I swear she is tigger on crack.
"Or we could grab a bite to eat," Thor smiled.
"Nah, Loki already asked if I wanted to grab a bite with him so I better go find him" I declined them both.
"I'll walk you back to the office," Thor offered. I hugged Melody bye and off we went.

Loki had only just finished when I arrived. Literally, He was just walking out of the building. He smiled softly when he saw me.
"One Emily, Safely returned," Thor handed me over. Loki took my hand, pulling me into his arms. If he wasn't holding my hand, I swear I would have fallen over.
"Thank you, Thor" Loki nodded his head.
"Visit again soon, Emily" Thor gave me a fist bump.
"I will," I nodded. Thor then disappeared down a dark alley. I soon heard whooshing "Why am I so jealous of vamp speed?"
"Because walking, Sucks" Loki kissed my forehead "Hungry, Darling?"
"Always,"

Loki and I took his car to an unmarked building. He led me silently inside where we were greeted by an elegant modern restaurant. I spin as I glance around, noticing the simple yet elevated decor.
"This place looks amazing but why is it so empty?"
"Doesn't open till next week. This is more of a soft launch," Loki licked his lips.
"But there's only two of us here?" I looked at the empty tables.
"I'm friendly with the chef, So I called in a favour. A unique tasting just for us," Loki bopped me on the nose.
"how bougie,"

The two of us take a seat and Loki slides me a menu.
"The chef has provided us with some options. What looks good to you?" Loki looked at his menu. I already knew he was going to order the first meat dish he saw.
"I will take the deconstructed eggplant rolls with avocado essence," I drooled "I don't know what avocado essence is but I do know that I have to try it,"
"It's been forever since I had a vegetarian dish, Let alone the essence of one," Loki chuckled at me, shaking his head.
"Don't knock it till you try it," I poked Loki in the chest.
"I think I will stick with meat essence for now," Loki pretended to be hurt. I rolled my eyes as the chef came by to take our order, Carrying a wine bottle under her arm.
"Good evening, Mr Odinson. I am glad you could come tonight,"
"I am glad to be here, Maria. This promises to be an excellent new venue,"
"I certainly hope so," The chef pours our wine and leaves.

Just as we have finished our first glass of wine, She returns with our dinners.
"Enjoy!" She bows and then walks off. Loki quickly sent a text while I dug in.
"This looks and smells amazing," I dig in with gusto, savouring every bite. Loki watches amused. I touch my face "Is there something on my face?"
"No," Loki smiled, Shaking his head. However, he keeps his eyes on me.
"Then what are you smiling at me for?" I wish I could read minds.
"I need to take you out more often. Your reactions never disappoint," Loki picked up his fork, eating a piece of steak "Damn, that is good,"
"I will hold you to that,"
"I have to admit, I needed the distraction," Loki played with his food. I have never seen him like this.
"Why? What's wrong?" I put my fork and knife down. Giving Loki my full attention.
"I know we talked a little bit about this earlier but I just can't help shake the feeling of being lost"
"Well, Let's try and get you feeling found. You said before that not working on the serum is probably the cause,"
"I did," Loki nodded.
"What would you say your purpose was before working on the serum?"
"I suppose it was building my company, Trying to do some good in the world. And before that... Well, it doesn't matter,"
"Before that?" Loki looked away. I bit my lip as I put my hand on his cheek, Making him look at me "Loki, come on. Let me in," Loki looks down at the tabletop.
"Things were bleaker, Darker. Most of the time, purpose didn't matter because there were too many battles to fight. Too many wars that needed winning. To much blood that needed spilling. Too many people to kill," Loki's eyes changed colour for a second. I always knew there was a darkness in him but it was one that I was highly attracted to.
"I see. I get why you are having such a rough time,"
"Let's unpack that another day. I brought you here because I wanted to talk,"
"Uh-oh," I felt a huge weight in my stomach and I think my face showed it.
"No, nothing like that. It's just..." Loki reassured me as he reached over, Gently taking my hand in his. His touch is warm and electric. I will never understand how vampires can be so warm "It's just been some time since I have been with someone this long. forgive me if I sound sentimental but I feel like what have is special,"
"Special, huh?" I bit my lips to stop the Cheshire cat grin that wanted to spread across my face.
"How do you feel, Emily?" Loki gulped. Was he nervous at my reaction? Did he think that I didn't return his feelings?
"Loki, I feel the same way," I squeezed his hand "Though I think special is an understatement"
"Would destiny be more appropriate?" Loki smiled. His eyes glisten like starlight. I could get lost in his eyes so easily. Like I did the first time I stared into them.
"Now that sounds sentimental," I grinned, placing my elbow on the table and holding my head up.
"Forgive me. I suppose you inspire the poet in me," Loki pulls my hand to his lips and brushes a kiss across my knuckles.
"We should... urm... finish this before it... you know... gets cold," I stuttered.
"Yeah,"

After finishing our dinner and the bottle of wine, Loki and I get up to leave.
"Should we thank the chef? The meal was delicious"
"She's already left. With dinner served, There was no reason for her to stay" Loki grinned "Besides I own the building and I suggested she take the rest of the night off," Loki stepped in close, Raising a hand to caress the soft skin of my cheek "Which means we have the whole place to ourselves,"
"Then you should violate some health codes with me," I grabbed Loki by his jacket, Pulling him closer to me.
"Oh, that can definitely be arranged," Loki smiles at me before scooping me up in his arms.
"Oh," Loki lays me down on top of a table, Leaning over to kiss my neck, as he knocks the silverware onto the floor "Oh, that's, that's nice," Loki's hands roam my body and we quickly lose our clothes, Letting them fall onto the floor and chairs.
"I guess our meal isn't quite over yet, it is?" Loki kisses down my chest, working his way down my stomach, His lips running softly over my thighs and then lower.
"Ahh!" I write happily on the tabletop, Digging my fingers into Loki's hair and wrapping my legs around his head.
"Does that feel good?" Loki pushed my legs open.
"Sooo good..." My back arched.
"And this?" his fingers press insistently against me.
"Ohh!" My bliss coils deeper, Building and building until it suddenly stops. Loki comes back up, Pausing to gently bite my thigh on the way.
"Emily..."
"Loki, Please," I leaned on my elbows "I want you on your back,"
"Gods, I love it when you take charge," Loki growled. I loop my arms around Loki's neck, Lifting up off the table and getting to my feet. I spin around so his back is to the table before pushing him down onto it, Straddling his lap.
"Perfect" I ran my hand down his chest, Slowly swaying my hips to an inaudible beat. I lean in to kiss him, teasing a moan from his lips.
"Emily, Please," Loki begged. I smirked.
"I like you begging. Do it again," I teased.
"Emily, Please" Finally, agonizing slowly, I lower myself completely onto him "Hnnn..."
"Loki..." I watch his face as I begin to move against him, Watch as his breath catches in his throat and I roll my hips in a slow rhythm.
"I can't --" Loki suddenly grabs my waist as he arcs his hips off the table.
"Oh!" I fall forward breathlessly, clutching his shoulders as I pick up speed and we lose ourselves in each other.

Despite Loki pleading with me to go home with me. I went to my house. I want just one night where I can starfish in my bed. He can have me tomorrow. I arrived home just as the sun was beginning to rise over the city.
"Wow, I was out much later than I thought,"

I unlock my door and step inside, Longing for my bed. As I dumped my bag, I felt like something was wrong.
"Hello, Emily," A cloaked figure stands at the far side of the room.
"Ahh!" I jump back as the figure moves closer. I grabbed the lamp from the table and held it above my head.
"I have been waiting for you," The voice was dark.
"What the fuck!" I stagger back, But the robed figure follows, looming, menacing. My phone was still in my top but I didn't want to take my eyes off the twat in my front room.
"Please, Stay where you are,"
"Get the fuck out of my apartment! Just who do you think you are?!" I screamed. God, I wish I had gone to Loki's.
"Who I am isn't important right now," The figure shook his head.
"What?! I'd say it is pretty goddamn important!" I wonder if I should smash his vase and grab a shard to stab this bastard. human or vampire. Ain't gonna bother me.
"All will be revealed shortly," The roed figure takes another step forward, Extending a hand towards me. I back up even more.
"My friends, They will know if something has happened to me. And they are powerful, scary ass bastards," I tried to sound threatening. I sound as threatening as an ant.
"It is not my intention to harm you, Emily," How the fuck does the wanker know my name?
"for the record, That is absolutely what someone who wanted to hurt me would say," The figure takes another step and the air around him seems to crackle with dormant energy. Like there are hidden tendrils of darkness lashing around him. And I can tell that this is someone incredibly powerful.
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way. You decided. I recommend that you comply without fuss,"
"Either way, I have a feeling I am not getting out of this. No matter what I do" I lowered the vase, Putting it back on the table.
"Smart girl. I promise that you won't be harmed," Reluctantly, I step forward. The figure extends a hand. With a deep breath, I reach out and grab it.
"Hhhhhh!" my mind flares with pain, As my vision blurs red. I gasped, Dropping to my knees "You lied. It... That... Fucking... hurts,"
"Embrace the pain," My hand trembles in his as I try to pull away "Don't fight it," And I am swallowed by darkness.
