// Third POV //

Soul couldn't prove it but he had a hunch that somebody was following him home.
He didn't do anything different, he walked the same route he always did. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary, although it never does in situations quite like this.
This wasn't unusual for Soul. In the twelve and a half weeks he's lived in the idol dorms, awaiting the conclusion to their trainee years, the Japanese youngster has grown increasingly paranoid as the seasons changed from happy summer into grim and sorrowful fall.
Along with the change of seasons came with a change of outlook. His little sister celebrated her birthday last week and he didn't even have the time to get on FaceTime with her. Never even wished her a happy birthday.
It didn't seem like a big deal to his hyungs or Jongseob but this mistake really broke Soul down.
Was this what being an idol will do to him? Give him less time for the people he loved most?
What was he to do once October hits and he wouldn't be able to contact his family at all due to the no-phones rule set in place at debut?
The obvious seemed to take hold of him. He had begun to form a deep brotherly connection with his older members and a friendship with Jongseob. This impacted more than he could've guessed.
He was terrified that the language barrier would be his downfall but it proved to be the opposite.
The four hyungs always embraced him, asked how he was doing, encouraged him to take breaks, bought him and Jongseob food, asked him out on activities with their families, made sure he was home on time.
These memories of being held by those in his group, the people who he found to have treasured with all of his might, are now the only things keeping him going.
He doesn't pretend to think he's going through worse than his other members because he certainly wasn't. All of his teammates were experiencing different hardships at this time mostly with adjusting school, work, and being on no sleep.
His hyungs were clearly downplaying what was going on to keep a brave face for him and Jongseob. It's not like Soul could ask many questions with his limited but persistent Korean.
Keeho will have a fit if he knew Soul was walking home alone, in the pitch black.
In Soul's defense, Keeho hyung, it was sunset when he started back.
He took a couple of detours after hearing the sounds of footsteps getting heavier and heavier. When the teen turned his body around, there was nobody there. It started out weird but as the sky got black, it became sinister.
Goosebumps mixed with a poisonous terror that began to foster within him, Soul broke out into a run. He finally got to the door of his dorm, when he realized he forgot his key again and banged on the door.
Intak answered, jacketed and bare-foot, and stared down at his dancer with eyes of astonishment as he could hear the noise of Soul's running about a mile before he got to the door. He's never seen Soul run like that before.
Soul watched his back, circling around the dorm like an excited puppy before stopping when Intak forced him to halt by grabbing his shoulders still.
"Please tell me the hyungs haven't noticed how long I've been gone." he said.
