Battle Plan

   By the time Bo, Sean, and their children reach the pack house it's in an uproar. A large number of pack members seem to be gathered in the den and Sean raises his hand to stop the others, listening to what they're saying.

"How dare they threaten us?" One man's angry voice bellows.

"They think we'd just hand over our pack members, our family like that?" That's Jeremy's voice and Sean smiles at Bonnie.

"That's right! Lycan or not, Hailey has been a part of the pack for nearly two decades!" Another voice chimes in. "And Teddy grew up here! His mate, she's as good as one of us just because she's his mate. It doesn't matter that we haven't met her yet."

"And Bonnie." The first voice says, sounding angry. Bonnie braces herself and bites her lip, feeling Bobby take her hand into his. "Bonnie was born to our pack. I know, she hasn't always felt like she belongs." He sighs and groans. "Hybrid or not, she's one of us. She's family and no one threatens my family and gets away with it." Bonnie finally realizes, that's Isaac. The mate of Sean's brother Sam.

"But, what if she chooses not to fight with us?" The soft voice of a woman asks.

"What do you mean? You think she'd turn her back on the pack?" Isaac growls.

"No, of course not." The voice assures. "But, they are her Mother's people and... her brother's Father is among them. She may choose not to fight at all." Bonnie has had enough and she saunters into the room, her hand still in Bobby's.

"First of all, my brother's Father is my Father." Bonnie says, looking around the crowded room. "Dad took Teddy into his heart and raised him as his own. Teddy will tell you himself, Ben is Father's name. That clan member was merely a sperm donor, for all we care." She scoffs, looking at heads lowered in shame. "Second, Green River is my pack. Not just my pack, it's my home, my family." She says, smiling at the hands she feels on her shoulders. Sean and Bo standing behind her. "I'll fight to the death to protect my family." Her eyes flash amber and Isaac grins at her, Sam smiling softly beside him.

"That's my baby girl." Bobby whispers, kissing her cheek.

"So, as you all heard, we're in for a battle with the clan." Bo says, stepping forward with his hand wrapped around Sean's. They're a unified front and they exude confidence and power. "Anyone afraid to fight..." He hears scoffs and laughter and he grins. "That's what I thought." He nods. "I'm not worried, but we haven't needed to fight for a very long time. So, special training sessions will begin this afternoon." He turns to Bonnie. "Bonnie, I'd appreciate it if you and your brother would help. The pack, might need practice at facing a clan member." He looks worried, but Bonnie just smiles.

"No problem Uncle Bo. Oh." Bonnie looks from Bobby to Bo and Sean, biting her lip.

"Bonnie, you can call us whatever you're comfortable with sweetheart." Sean says smiling softly at her.

"Uhm, thank you... Papa." Bonnie blushes and Sean's smile becomes even more radiant. "I'm sure Mom will want to help train too." She frowns, looking down. "But I'm not sure she can face him."

"It doesn't matter, we'll protect her either way. Won't we?" Bo says, looking around the room.

"Of course!" One voice says.

"Hailey is one of us!" Another calls out.

"We'll protect our own, our family!" A third shouts and the room erupts, just as Hailey and Ben burst in with Teddy and Nora behind them.

"I'm not going to cower behind my pack." Hailey says, Ben pulling her close to his side. "You're Damn right, no one better threaten my family. Like Luna said, if it's a war they want... it's a war we'll give them." There's a roar of cheers and agreement and Sean quietly moves to Nora's side.
