"And Grand Plie And Arm To Third Position As You Come Up", says my ballet teacher as I practice my plies. My name is Lianne and I am in Grade 4 ballet at En Pointe Academy Of Dance. It was a typical afternoon ballet class. I was dressed like the rest of my classmates in my ballet class. A leotard, a pair of  tighs, a pair of ballet shoes and my hair neatly tied in a bun. I was imagining myself dancing on a big stage.
However, my teacher's voice snapped me back to attention. She was correcting us on our posture. I looked at my reflection in the mirror. My posture did look less than spectacular. Finally she said it was time for a water break. We were all very relieved to hear that. After dancing continuously for 1 hour, it felt great to take a drink of water and breathe. I looked across the studio and saw my best friend Grace smiling at me. She was dripping from head to toe in sweat. She walked across the studio and started to talk to me. The conversation between Grace and I was joined by two of our ballet classmates Ariel And Yasmine. Even though Ariel Yasmine Grace and I are the best of friends, we are completely different dancers. Grace and I are more elegant dancers. But Yasmine and Ariel are more focused on their technique.
We were all busy chatting amongst ourselves when our teacher called us to continue our ballet lesson. We jumped up eagerly and stood in the center of the ballet studio. Our ballet studio looks like any regular old ballet studio. We have boxes of ballet shoes skirts leotards two ballet barres and even some extra hair netting and hair pins. Anyway, our teacher told us we were going to learn a new dance.
