Mother

I entered the house to find Mom lying on the couch with a bottle of beer in her hand and Jordan sleeping on top of her.

I approached them and took Jordan to his room upstairs.l came back down and found Mom looking in the fridge in the kitchen.

"Hello mother!" I shouted to get her attention."I swear to god I've had it with you!" she said running my way .I shrieked as she clawed my hand and pushed me to the wall.

I groaned as my head pounded from hitting the wall."Well guess what! I've sold u to a family and you'll be living there and I'll have some peace alone in this house.And I'm also thinking of selling your annoying Jordan too!"she scowled.

I stood there silent for a moment then a tear than down my cheek.Does she really hate me that much that she had to sell me?"Oh really? Well guess what? I'm not going anywhere!"l screamed as l ran upstairs to my room and l shut the door behind me.

I'm Alexa Collins ,17 years old, live with my abusive Mom and my 2 year old brother Jordan.

My dad died a year ago in a car accident.Ever since that day my Mom has been drinking her sorrows away and beating the hell out of me for satisfaction.

If it wasn't for my little brother I don't think l would be here today.I live for that little man;he is my everything.

I sobbed in my room for a while until I stopped.It was getting late so l went to check on Jordan.He was still asleep but l woke him to give him a bath."Are you okay Lex?"he asked seeing dried tears on my face."Yea I'm okay bubba I just need u to come take a bath okay."I said with a smile as l picked him up heading to the bathroom.

I finished bathing him as he went downstairs and I went back to my room.

Three hours passed and l was scrolling through my phone when suddenly l heard a knock on my door."What do u want!"I shouted."Alexa dear, it's me."I heard my Mom call.Since when does she call me dear.I opened the door to find two tall men in black suites wearing black shades and mom was behind them.

Did she really just do it?"Who are these people?"I asked with a confused look but the inside of me knew exactly who they were.

"Umm honey,they are here to take u to your new family"she said."Wow l can't believe u really did it."l said as my eyes started becoming glossy as if l was about to cry .As l was about to slam the door one of the men put their foot in between the door and the door frame so that l don't close the door.

"I'm sorry ma'am but you gonna have to come with us."one of the men said."I'm not going a-"I was interrupted in my sentence as l felt a shock in my body.

They had tasered me and in a second all l saw was blackness.

My eyes shot open.l was in a dim room.l tried sitting up but l felt a sharp pain from the side of my body.

I groaned to the sudden pain and looked around.The room was much more luxurious than mine.

All of a sudden the door swung open."Oh Alexa darling! You're awake!".I jumped to the sudden action.

"Oh don't be afraid."the woman said approaching my bed.She sat on the corner of the bed and l slightly moved my feet away.

"I'm Nancy Cortez"she said lifting her hand as a sign for me to shake it.My eyes flung wide open. I'm in the Cortez's house.THE CORTEZ!The most dangerous mafia.

"Alexa Collins."I said shaking my head to come back to reality and shaking Nancy's hand.

"Nice to know you Alexa."she said with a warm smile.I smiled too because she reminded me of Mom before dad's death.

"Dinner's ready we'll be waiting for you downstairs."she said as she left.I nodded and tried getting myself out of bed.

The side of my body still hurt but it wasn't as bad.

I went to the bathroom, rinsed my face and went downstairs.
