Inside the door formed by countless spherical lights a person or rather a creature that resembled a human but had innumerable tangling tentacles with illusory symbols atop them was sleeping peacefully.
A hooded robe that was black on the outside but yellow on the inside covered most of "Him"

"His" eyes trembled for a moment and the spherical lights churned but it soon went quite, still and quite as the dead. This cycle of stirring and quietness continued for a while until a voice rang out, the voice didn't sound real as it was only an echo of the mind.

"Was it worth it?" No answer came to aid.

The voice continued "fate can be so cruel, no matter the struggle I arrive to this...it's a world of irony" the voice started chuckling towards the end of "His" musing.

The voice grew a touch melancholic and with a sigh said "I just wish to return" then suddenly everything started shaking "is that scoundrel getting grumpy again" but before "he" could finish "his" thoughts everything went pitch black and the figure got sucked into one of the light spheres.

Rays of sunlight came in through the the gaps of the curtain illuminating the face of a thinly built man with black hair, the scene gave off a serene and and unusually scholarly aura but the peace was soon broken by an awfully loud and nerve racking alarm clock going off.

The man stirred and slowly opened his eyes to reveal brown irises, for a moment there was a hint of illusory stars rotating in them but soon they disappeared.

Despite the continuous loud ringing of the alarm clock he sat up slowly and looked at his surroundings, after a long moment of silence a brilliant smile broke on his face and he uttered "so we are playing with nostalgia again"

It's a one room rental flat he was currently in, there is a bathroom inside the flat, there are no decorations and the only things that took up space in the flat is a shabby bed, desk, closet and fridge.

Standing up he turned off the clock, made the bed, took his towel and clothes then went inside the bathroom.

In there he looked at his reflection in the mirror and inspected it with mirth 'Klein's face is a reminder of reality, there is no way back' then he scrunched up his face and lampooned 'what am I saying, Klein is me. That was dangerous'

After the warm shower he took the phone on the desk and looked through it then he searched the whole room, leaving nothing unturned and finally concluded that he is Klein Moretti who is an orphan, is a foreigner living in South Korea, works at a gaming equipment manufacturing company and is a single 26 year old who is also broke.

'Quite a lot of cliches, is this a protagonist set up for those wish fulfillment web novels? His source of inspiration seems a bit rotten' he shivered at the mental image of that ancient being hunched over a computer and enthusiastically reading.

'Oh right work! at least I'm employed' Klein thought trying to find the silver lining.

'Seems like my background has made me be able to speak Korean, that's a relief.' he sighed.

'Feels like amnesia, no memories but the everyday functions are still there' he thought. Soon after he got ready and headed to work, acting in the role he was given perfectly.

He took the subway and while entering he felt a tug on his spirit 'the subway is an important piece, it doesn't give a sense of danger so I should come back to check it' he noted to himself while sitting on the bench waiting for the train to come.

In his wait he took of his necklace and started spirit dowsing but the the pendant didn't move in any meaningful way 'it's pure silver but still doesn't work so my powers really are sealed, only my spirituality seems to have escaped and it's working like a sixth sense' he concluded and the train came.
