Y/N POV:
Joe was out of town for a game against the buccaneers. It was his first night there. I couldn't really sleep without joe by my side, so when he was out of town, i usually went with him. But this week I couldn't make it.
So it was hard for me to sleep. I wanted to go to bed, but I just couldn't get myself to sleep without joe. I was lying in bed wide awake when my phone went off with a FaceTime call from joe.
I immediately smiled and answered the phone. Joe was lying in bed and shirtless. I definitely stared at his abs. He noticed I was staring and chuckled. I looked back into his eyes and smiled.
"Hi," He said, smiling at me. "Hi," I answered him. "I didn't think you would answer. Thought you would be asleep by now." Joe whispered. "I can't really sleep without you." I said and looked away from the phone, kind of embarrassed.
He smiled, "I miss you." Joe said. Which made me look back at the screen and smile at him. "I miss you too, joey." Me and joe have been dating for about a year now, and we haven't said I love you to each other yet. "Hopefully, I'll be home soon. Back to you." Joe said sweetly.
I took a deep breath, and I said it, "I love you, Joesph Lee Burrow." He looked at me as he was processing what I just told him, and a smile broke out onto his face. "I love you too, baby." I couldn't be any happier with joe even though right now we are we are very far apart. We stayed on the phone until both of us fell asleep on FaceTime together.
I woke up first and decided that I was gonna surprise joe at the game. I stayed in bed for a few minutes and looked at Joe sleeping on the FaceTime call before I hung up the phone and started to pack a bag and bought a plane ticket.
I got to the airport and got on the plane. Joe should be getting ready for the game right now. He's probably warming up and stretching. When the plane landed, I got a rental car and drove to the stadium. I got to the section where Joe's parents are. They were excited to see me and hugged me. I told them that joe didn't know I was here and my plan to surprise him they were gonna go along with my plan.
The game started, and the bengals and joe were off to a great start. The bengals score kept going up, and it ended 19 to 14. The bengals won. This was gonna make my surprise for joe so much better.
Joe met his parents as soon as he got off the field and hugged them, and was talking to them. I snuck into the locker room. Of course, I asked Zac first and got him in on it. I was behind some of the players when Joe got into the locker room to hear zacs speech.
"OK, good game, guys." Zac was starting to wrap up his speech.
"Joe, will you come here in the middle?" Zac asked joe. Joe came up to the middle facing Zac away from me. I went up behind him and hugged him from behind. He jumped and turned around. Once he saw that it was me, he picked me up, and I wrapped my legs around his waist.
I kissed him. "I missed you." I whispered. "I love you." He whispered to me at the same time. I let out a little laugh. He set me down, and that's when I realized the team was clapping. I smiled and jokingly told joe to go shower because he smelled bad and I would see him after his interview.
After Joe's interview. We met up. I put all my stuff in his car and dropped off the rental. I got into Joe's car, and we went to his hotel and cuddled. My head was on his bare chest. We were watching TV. Well, joe was watching TV. I was tracing Joe's abs with my finger.
I looked up at Joe, and I was surprised to see that he wasn't watching TV but really my every move. I smiled at him and leaned up to give him a kiss. Let's just say that night I was able to fall asleep with joe right by my side.
