(Kaylin's POV)
"All right, boys. Let's line it up. Carlos, you're with me." Jay said and Shawn was against Chad. "Let's go. Yeah? Assembler. Salute. Lower the point. Masks down. En garde." They then started, and I watched, moving my head as they fought. "Keep your center! Eyes on your opponent!" Shawn yelled as he kept dodging. Carlos, Jay, and Chad were out. Shawn pulled off his mask as the other person kept their mask on. "Get him, Shawn!" I yelled. "Watch out, Shawn!" Chad yelled loudly and I covered my ears. "Chad, lower it down," Jane said back and he glared at both of us. Yareli wrapped her arm around me and I kept my ears covered. Gizmo nuzzled into the side of my leg and looked up at me. "Finish him!" Another random person yelled and finally, they finished. The helmet was pulled off and it was... "It's Lonnie!" Jane said and the 3 of us cheered for her. "Not bad," Jay said. "You should put me on the team," Lonnie said and the boys (Shawn & Jay) both smiled widely. "Hey, w-what?" Chad said, walking closer. I groaned, leaning my head against my hand. "No, no, no. We'll-- We'll be the laughing stock of the league. And what's gonna happen next? We'll have a girls' tourney? Come on, guys." Chad said and I looked at Shawn who looked back at me. I could tell that he was upset with Chad. "So?" Jay asked Chad. "So? Uh, so, have you not read the rule book? Section 2, paragraph 3, 11-4. 'A team will be composed of a and men.' Hmm? Why don't you read the rule book?" Chad said, holding the book up for everyone to see. "Okay, yeah, but you're down a man. I mean, since Ben had to leave to do all that king stuff." Lonnie said. She had a point and Ben said that Coach was trying to get some diversity- Wait a second. Chad is wrong, she is right.
"Jay..." Lonnie said, sighing. "I'm sorry. Coach trusts me. I'm not staying captain if I just out the rule book." That's it. I'm done with Chad. "You're completely wrong," I said, going down to the main area. "Here we go again," Chad said. "Have a problem with me telling you what's right and wrong?" I asked and he shut his mouth. "What are you talking about?" Jay asked me. "With me being the King's girlfriend, I was talking to him and he told me that Coach has been looking for more diversity. With the girls doing amazing things in sports like basketball and track, the females are winning more than the boys did in 3 months combined. We have 12 first place & 6 second place trophies or medals in basketball while we have 9 first place & 5 second place trophies or medals in track. Also, the girls have been asking to make their team for Tourney since the boys won't let them join Tourney. So I talked to Coach myself." I explained. "What did he say?" Carlos asked. "He said that if he doesn't see an improvement in letting girls join Tourney & ROAR, then he is going to kick off the captain and let two females become the new Captains. Because as the Queens of the kingdoms have reminded him, princesses have saved more princes than the princes have saved them. So go ahead, don't let Lonnie join and you can kiss yourself being captain or any of y'all being captain again. It's safe to say..." Jay cut me off. "You're on the team, Lonnie. Your friends can join as well." She smiled widely and hugged me tightly. "Thank you! Thank you!" I smiled and hugged back. "Just because you're the King's girlfriend doesn't mean you have control over the whole kingdom. Riddle me this, why do you act like you have control? When you don't and you know it." Chad told me. "Do I hear you arguing with my girlfriend?" Ben yelled and I covered my ears. "B-Ben, I-" Chad started stuttering. "Save it, Chad. I overheard the whole conversation." He came down and stood next to me, wrapping his arm around me, and pulling me to his side. I looked up at him, giggling.
"While you were busy arguing with Lonnie about the rule book, Kaylin had Jane call me and I listened to what you said. I remembered the conversation that I and Coach had this past meeting about how a bunch of the girls were asking to join Tourney and ROAR. But every time they seemed to ask, you would remind them about the rule book and Jay agreed with you. We pulled Lonnie into one of the meetings and talked about how Jay agreed to everything you were saying when we told you that Shawn was the co-captain. Everyone on the team should've been reminding you both of that. Coach also informed me that if things with Jay as captain were to go downhill, then the co-captain would be the new captain or he could appoint anyone he wanted as the new captain. So we gave Shawn the option and he told us that Lonnie would be the new captain but he still would be the co-captain." Ben explained and I nodded. "Honestly, Chad. We've also had so many complaints from your team members that we feel like you should be off the team. Your dad and Li Shang have been running a military team so we decided that if you keep up your behavior, you'll be on that team and no longer on the ROAR or Tourney team." The other members started laughing, I looked up at Ben and smiled. "Y-You still didn't answer my question!" Chad pointed his finger at me. "Oh, why does she act like has control and she doesn't? Because she is the daughter of a god & a fairy. They have more control over me and my parents combined."
