Danger: High Voltage

Chapter 1 - Explosion

Your hand fits in mine, like it's made just for me. But bear this in mind, it was meant to be." played outside my window. I ran to see who it was. It was Jack, my wonderful boyfriend.

Jack’s brown hair was blowing in the wind. His tan skin was glowing in the light. His green eyes were sparkling. “He is perfect. Thank god, he is my boyfriend,” I thought to myself. “Hey, babe,” I said.

 "Olivia," Jack called. "Come take a walk with me!” I looked down to see what I was wearing. I wore a pair of my brother’s sweatpants, and a t-shirt I found in the laundry room. “Just let me get dressed. Give me 20 minutes, tops,” I told him.

            I took off everything. I checked my closet. I slipped on a pair of black skinny jeans, white shirt, and a black vest. I grabbed my double – buttoned, gray jacket. I wrapped my gray, black, and white scarf. I put on my black, knee – high boots.

Then, I quickly did my makeup. I did a smoky – eye, and pink lips. I, then, pinned up half my hair then curled it. I looked perfect, and he was perfect. I ran downstair to open the door. I sprayed hairspray on my hair in the mirror and opened the door.

Jack was wearing a blue, plaid shirt, black jeans and boots. He was also wearing sunglasses. Jack was holding something behind his back, “What’s that?” I asked him.

“Close your eyes,” he said. “and put your arm out. I have something for you.” I did what he said. Then, he put something in my hands that had plastic wrapping on the outside. When I opened my eyes, I saw that he had gotten me roses.

            I jumped into his arms. “I love you,” I told him. I quickly went inside and put the roses in a vase with water. I ran back outside and gave him a kiss. We began to walk. The woods were right behind my house, so we took a walk there.

            We walked through the woods for about an hour, when we came across a blown transformer with a broken sign that read, DANGER: High Voltage. “Whoa,” I said. “That’s dangerous.” Before I even finished talking, Jack was running toward the transformer. “Olivia, watch this!” he called as he began to climb upon the transformer. “Jack, no! It’s too risky,” I shouted at him. “Its fine,” he yelled back. He reached the top.

            “I’m on top of the world!” Jack shouted into the sky. “Jack, get down! It’s dangerous!” I yelled at him. “I’m alright,” he said. He began to walk all along to top of the transformer. There was a  loud beep. “What was that?” I yelled, worried. Then, there was a huge explosion.
