Jodhbir's spacious, well-furnished apartment buzzed with anticipation as he prepared for the Saturday party. He moved about the room with a sense of excitement tinged with nervousness, something he hadn't felt in quite a while.
His hands, usually steady in the boardrooms, now betrayed a hint of trembling as he meticulously adjusted his navy-blue suit, paying close attention to every detail. The tie, a shade darker than the suit, was carefully knotted, and the crisp white shirt underneath brought out the deep color of his eyes. A final glance in the full-length mirror confirmed that everything was in place.
As he ran his fingers through his curly, chestnut-brown hair. His dark, expressive eyes held a mix of anticipation and curiosity, mirroring the thoughts that swirled in his mind. His slightly tousled hair added a hint of casual charm to his appearance.
Jodhbir couldn't help but think about Ruhani as he finished his preparations. Her lively spirit, the way she spoke her mind, and the captivating twinkle in her eyes had left an permanent mark on him. He found himself looking forward to the evening, eager to see how their dynamics would evolve in a social setting. Her candidness and unfiltered honesty intrigued him, and he couldn't deny the faint stirrings of attraction that had taken root.
He knew that their upcoming encounter at the party held the potential to change the course of their lives. It was a prospect that both excited and unnerved him. Jodhbir, typically reserved and guarded, couldn't help but wonder about the possibilities that lay ahead.
With one last look in the mirror, he took a deep breath, taming the flutter of excitement in his chest. As he headed out the door, ready to face the evening and the unknown territory of his budding connection with Ruhani, he couldn't deny that this was a journey he was more than willing to embark upon.

Ruhani stood before her aunt, Chandni, in her elegant black sleeveless evening dress. The satin fabric caressed her figure, and her straight hair cascaded down her back, perfectly complementing the dress. Light makeup enhanced her natural skin tone, adding to her allure.
“How do I look, Badi Maa?” Ruhani twirled gracefully, a playful smile adorning her lips.
Chandni's eyes sparkled with warmth as she looked at her niece. She leaned in and planted a gentle kiss on Ruhani's forehead. "Oh, you look stunning, Ruhi."
However, Angad, Ruhani's ever-protective brother, couldn't resist chiming in. He fixed his gaze on his sister and made a face of mock disgust. "Mumma, don't lie. You look like a witch in this black dress."
Ruhani, never one to back down from a challenge, met her brother's comment with a sassy retort. "I don't give a penny about your opinion. So rot in hell, you Satan."
Angad, clearly unfazed by his sister's words, prepared to fire back, but Chandni intervened, her tone firm. "Enough, Angad. Don't talk to her so rudely. You'll be crying your eyes out when she will leave after her marriage, just like you cried at Chahana's wedding."
Angad couldn't deny the truth in his mother's words. He had never expected to shed tears at his sister's wedding, but he had indeed wept like a child. He had no doubt that history would repeat itself when Ruhani tied the knot.
"Badi Maa, I haven't consented to the proposal yet," Ruhani grumbled, clearly not ready to concede.
Chandni, however, was quick to read her niece's excitement, despite the protests. She grinned knowingly. "But your excitement says otherwise."
Ruhani, folding her arms defiantly and clutching her purse, insisted, "I am excited for the party, not for him."
Chandni simply shrugged, leaving the matter at that.
