Chapter 12| Insane

Delirious' POV

I was at work reading the newspaper about Batcoon. I felt sick in my stomach with all of this attention. Imagining the flashing camera lights and people running up to me with microphones.

Toby told me he would take me out to dinner today so I told the guys I would be back late at night. I wonder what Toby have in plan. Probably take me to Cluckin' Bell.

I look up and saw a customer ready to pay. I scanned his stuff and later gave him back his stuff when he was done paying. Four girls came inside and look around to buy something.

"I'm serious, Sophie. This dude suddenly appeared after the raccoons were attack and now he's saving the day." One girl told her.

"I don't really care, I just think Batcoon is awesome!" Another said.

"Of course you'll say that, Luna." The girls laughed and grabbed a bag of chips. I got a bit nervous from them talking about me.

"F-Found everything y-you need?" I said shakily. They put their stuff on the counter and nodded.

"Who's paying?" One said.

"I say Yipee should."

"Or Mel."

"I'll just pay." A girl with short black hair gave me the money to pay for the stuff.

"H-Here you go.."

"You sounded so nervous." The girl said.

"It's just something came up... I'm sorry." I told them. They accepted my apologies and they walked out.

I sat on a chair and covered my face. I really do need to get used to this attention. More people came by and it became a busy day.

It was almost closing hours. The last customer paid and I got up to change the sign. "Wait!" Someone yelled. I looked up and saw who it was, Ray.

"Ray!" I cheered. He came inside the store and we hugged. "How it going? How's Andrew?" I asked.

"Things are going well and Andrew is a crazy raccoon. I just wanted to ask, do you want to come over for dinner? I'm sorry it's last minute and all." Ray said.

"Um... I was supposed to go with my boss but I'll ask if I can go with you." I said. "TOBY!" I yelled.

"What?!"

"Can I eat dinner with someone else? I'll promise we can go eat dinner tomorrow."

"Yeah that's fine, Jonny Boy!"

"Thanks!"

"So?" Ray asked

"Let me get my stuff and we'll be heading out." I told him. He nodded and wait for me to get my backpack.

We walked all the way deep inside a forest. My face glowed once I saw everyone again. They had a new upgrade. Everyone was living in big green tents now. Ray patted my back and I followed him to the new raccoon base.

I looked around looking for someone. Someone who's been with me my whole life. I stopped once I saw someone who look a bit like him. He was talking to a girl. He turned his head and both of our face glowed.

"LUKE!"

"JONATHAN!"

We both ran up to each other and hugged. Luke hugged me tightly and other people came out of their tents once they heard my name.

"Everyone thought you were dead..." He told me. I shook my head no.

We let go and I look around, seeing everyone looking at me. "What's going on here?" I heard a deep voice said. I stopped at were the voice came from.
