It was morning time, the sun was bright and beautiful giving off a radiant glare of oranges and yellows. "Father?" Mary Jane's dad had just walked in after a long tiresome night shift. He worked at an old lumber yard. He smelled slightly of newly cut wood and some tree dust stuck to the collar of his shirt. "Mary Jane, I need a second to take care of something." Mary Jane wondered about what her father had to take care of but she knew it was none of her business so she ignored her curiosity and went up the stairs to her brightly colored bedroom. She laid on her bed and smelled the flowers of the cherry blossom tree outside her small window. "Mary Jane! You can come down now I need your help with delivering something. " She came down and her father's glossy brown eyes stared at her. He was holding a packet that had something written on it. Mary Jane could not read it, To her, it looked like scribbles of gibberish. She grabbed the packet and asked where she was supposed to take it. "Take the back roads, down to near the river. After you get there, cross over and head to town." She skipped out the door humming her favorite song and old song that no one remembers except those few who hold on to the past. The back roads were made of orange dirt, almost like a sun red. Except sun reds are prettier. She neared the river. It was a river but it still could do harm so she stepped on a good-sized stone to test if it was safe to stand on. Then she started to skip on one rock after the other. The river was very wide and she could easily fall, B. She had four stones to go when the packet slipped from her fingers into the water and rushed off the side waterfall. "No!" Mary Jane was very upset she lost the packet and decided that she just had to tell her pa. She went home feeling guilty of losing the packet and tried to imagine what would have happened if she had not been so careless. The moon was up, beckoning her to go home as if it was telling her something but what? She walked in and her dad was on the phone. He looked up and dropped the phone. He ran at Mary like a lion launching itself to catch a gazelle. He was furious and screamed and yelled at Mary. "You stupid foolish girl! Do you know what you have done? Those were the hospital bills to save your mother and now we are broke. I hate you!" He went into the kitchen and came back with a large kitchen knife. The town could hear screams of the innocent calling for help. But no help was received.

Mary Jane was stared upon forever by the dark full moon. Living in false happiness, with no memory of her past life all she knew was that she was waiting for someone to come back. But who? As long as she doesn't know, She did not hurt or care.
