Well, I am right now in a trunk.... An awkward way to start my story. About 10 minutes ago I was moved out of my old house. My mother is here with me, but for all she knows I could be another one of my siblings. I have plenty. Megan, my former owner, walked me out to a white car. Toyota I believe the brand is. A middle aged man who lived in my old house watched a lot of car shows. Megan had recently moved out and didn't have room for me and my siblings. Anyways.... She brought me to the front passenger's seat. There, was a girl, about 13 years of age, playing on a laptop with SkullCandy earphones on. Megan passed me to the girl and said "Here. This is yours now." After a brief moment of looking back and forth between me and Megan, she said,
"Mine? Why?"
"Do you not want it?"
"No, no... It's not that I don't want it, it's just I'm a little confused."
"Well then here." Megan said, placing me on the keyboard of the laptop. Was this my new owner? She didn't seem very happy to see me.
"Hey! I can't play with it here!" She exclaimed. Ouch. This sucks.
Megan sighed. "Fine. I'll put it in the back with the other one."
"I want it!" A voice said from the back of the seat. An ash-blond boy, 12 I think, popped out from the back. Siblings? They sure have different hair colors. Almost opposite. But they both have glasses so I see the resemblance.
"No! It's mine! I just can't hold it." The 13 year old said.
"Don't worry Keenan, I have a plant for you." Megan said. She took me and placed me in the trunk. Guess I won't get to know who's coming with me.
Later
The road has gotten significantly rough. I'm doing everything in my power to not fall over. We've been driving for about an hour. My mother still hasn't said anything. So much for motherly love. Hey... We've stopped. I hear the sound of car doors opening. Finally! Freedom! The trunk opens and light pours in. I feel the sunlight on my leaves and it feels amazing.
"Do you have Aiden?" The girl says.
"I can't carry your plant Yuki. Come get it" The lady that opened the trunk says. Yuki comes around the corner carrying her backpack and laptop.
"I have other stuff," she mutters before saying, "Fine." The lady hands me to Yuki.
"Careful. You're hand is on a leaf."
"Oops! Sorry Aiden!" Yuki says, moving her hand. She flips her straightened dark brown hair behind her and attempts to push her glasses up. "Grrr... Stupid glasses." I silently laugh at her frustration. I'm so mean. Yuki and I walk up the stairs of a big wooden house with a red roof. Quite old fashioned. We enter a door and end up in a more modern, renovated porch. White and black tiles on the floor, black granite counter tops, a fairly new clothes dryer on another fairly new washing machine. Hmmm... Charming. Although, it kind of gives off a cool feeling. I shiver. We continue walking through a small square archway. I look around as we walk on the cold white tiles. To my left is a dining room, with an old wooden table and old wooden chairs. Also the floor is a new darkish wood. There are four very large windows revealing a deck then a clearing with a large tree in the middle. Near the last window along the wall are dog creates. Oh no. Dogs. My favorite. Sarcasm. Anyway, a ways in front of me is a wood-burning fireplace, surrounded by black tiles. Behind it is a sort of pale green drywall with a little metal ornament on it. To my right, is a kitchen with white cupboards. I am unsure if they are plastic or wood, but I do believe they are wood. The counters are the same black granite and the back splash is an assortment of black to grey mini-tiles. It was also in the porch. I forgot to mention it. Oops. There is a magnet screwed to the wall, holding about 10 knives. A corner cupboard has glass on it, revealing quite a lot of water bottles. The window above the sink can be seen from outside and is above a large wooden deck with a couple of benches that double as a railing. Also, there was a fridge and a microwave, but they were plain, old and a dirty kind of white. Nothing special. What did catch my eye was the island in the middle. It still had that black granite but in the middle was a gas stove. I'd never seen one in person. Most houses had electric stoves these days, but most professional chefs use gas stoves. I'd always had an interest in cooking. To bad I'll never get too. Back to explaining. Behind the island was a white door and beside it a stairwell leading to the second floor. Beside the stairwell was a living room, with the same floor as the dining room. Two dark leather couches, one three cushions, the other two, surrounded a kind of beige carpet with multi-colored squares on it. In front of the two-cushion couch was some machine that I believe is a heater due to the sensor taped to the wall but I'm not sure. In front of the three-cushion couch is a flatscreen tv. I think. I couldn't see. It was on top of a red-orange wood vanity thing of some sorts. The walls were the same odd green drywall and there was a yellow plant painting above the three-cushion. Yuki and I continued up stairs passing by a mirror hanging on the wall. This was the first time I got a good look at myself. There I was. I was planted in a kind of rounded square pot with a small round rock beside me. I hardly even noticed the object. In the split second that I saw myself, I counted about 15 leaves all sprouting out from one corner of the pot. I sighed. Darn. I'm not a very attractive plant, am I? Some of my leaves drooped sadly off the edge. My mother was so much prettier then I, having probably 30 healthy leaves. While I pitied myself, Yuki kept climbing up the stairs. She held on to a railing about the same color as the dining and living room floor. I hadn't noticed the stairs until it was too late to see all of them, but they had that flooring too. I forgot all of my sadness as we reached the top of the stairs. Hardly anything was renovated up here! The hallway floor was a scratched light brown wood, along with the walls being the same color, still revealing natural knots that were in the tree before. Other then the bathroom nothing was renovated! There were three other rooms, each a bedroom. The closest to me was the largest, and all I could tell from where I stood was that it had a door leading out to a balcony. The bedroom to the left of me had a white bunk bed, that was turned into a couch for some reason. The bedroom floor was unseeable due to an icky yellow carpet and laundry littered all over, but I could tell it was the old wood by the fact nothing else was renovated. The last room that we headed into is the room I feel as though I'm going to stay in so I shall explain it tomorrow. Yuki cleared space off of a shelf by moving two porcelain dolls onto a lower shelf. She set me down right down beside three others and proceeded to leave. I could see the bathroom light flick on.
"Hey Yuki?! Does your plant need water?! Mines pretty dry!" The lady from before yelled from downstairs.
"Oh yeah! Good point, mum!" Yuki yelled back. She ran into her room, gently grabbed me and sprinted downstairs. Having a different angle, I could see a bigger bathroom then the upstairs one, as well as a wall lined with framed photos. I was sat on the island while Yuki got me water. There right in front of me was the triplets. The triplets were a family of bamboo, two looking practically identical to each other and the third being straight instead of curly. We had just called then the triplets, but I had heard the boy, Keenan I think, give them a name. I just forgot what it was. Scaring the hell out of me, water was poured into the soil beside me. After a second of discomfort, I accepted the water. I was actually super thirsty. Thank goodness I got water.
"Sorry if this is too much. I don't want to drown you, but I don't want you to die from dehydration or starvation or whatever" Yuki said. Yeah... She did put a little too much in, but I get the vibe she's never had a plant before so it was expected. Plus a little bit extra never hurt me. After motioning a quick goodbye to the triplets, I was picked up and moved back to my shelf. A problem occurred to me. Sunlight. I can't get sunlight from here. Oh no. What now? I sighed. Back to death thoughts I guess. Yuki was sitting on her bed, doing something on her iPod. She totally forgot about me. Darn.
"Oh! Aiden! You need sunlight don't you? Who am I kidding? Of course you do!" She exclaimed suddenly, once again scaring the hell out of me. What a strange girl.... I was moved in front of a window on a windowsill covered in whiteboard markers. The sun was setting on the other side of the house, but I assume I'll have sun at some point tomorrow. Yuki's bed sat right under the window. She sat up and stared at me, putting her iPod down.
"Well... This is your new home. You are Aiden. I am..." She said her real name but I was told to call her Yuki. " I've never had a plant before. I'm going to tell you all about my life. I'm going to share my feelings with you. Not only that, but I also want your opinions on the matter. I'm going to be writing a journal for you, so tell me all that happens. I might post a couple on a site called WattPad. Kay?" She whispered. I nodded. This never happened to someone, something like me. I'm a plant. But for once, someone actually cares what I think. This is when I realized that I am one of the most luckiest plants in the world. I am also the happiest plant in the world. I am Aiden, the plant that has an owner who cares.
Thanks for listening,
AidenYuki's Note: Hiiii!!! So I am writing this but it's all from Aiden. Sorry if there is typos all over. It's kind of difficult to keep up with typing when a plant is talking at 100 words per milli-second. Anyways.... I have like 3 stories going on now, so if you have a favorite, then favorite and comment on it so I will know which one to update. Alright love you guys! Byyyyyue :3 Also, Aiden is a real plant and I do talk to him, but this first chapter is for an English assignment. If you like it, please tell me so I can write more.
