Ally's P.O.V.
Jason was so sweet and welcoming it surprised me. His house was very comforting and cozy, to me it felt like home. He came back in to the room holding two mugs. He set both of our drinks down on the table and looked up at me. "If it's okay with me asking, why were you over at his house?" I slowly slid down into my seat.
"To be honest, I haven't had the best relationships. My ex boyfriend was beyond abusive. He wouldn't let me leave the house or anything. There was no way of communication to the outside world. I couldn't take it anymore so I ran away. I got pretty far but they were getting close so I went to the closest house I saw and begged for them to let me come in, little did I know I walked in to an even worse situation.
All I could think about was what a big mistake I made for even thinking about leaving. He was an absolute pig, I have never met somebody so vile. I don't know what would've happened if you didn't come along. You saved me, by the way thank you for that. Now, if you don't mind me asking, what did he mean about skeletons in the closet? What did you do in the past that could be that bad?"
He took a deep breath and looked down at the ground. "If I told you, you would run straight out the door and down the street. I am no better than my neighbor." I was at a loss for words, he seemed like the nicest person I've met I can't imagine him doing something so wrong. As soon as I finished drinking he took my cup into the kitchen.
"I'm so sorry for this I didn't intend on this happening but you know too much already," he said from the kitchen. "What do you mean?" I asked, more worried than intending on sounding. At that moment everything became a blur. I tried to stand up and run to the door but as soon as I stood up, I collapsed to the ground. My body became paralyzed. I heard murmurs and a figure passed through my vision. My whole body became numb as it all went black.

As I picked her body up and went for the door her head rolled to the side. I feel so bad for doing this, but if I lost my property wouldn't I want it back? I can't imagine what I would do if this happened to me. She's different from the others, she's got some fight in her. The others couldn't even stand up let alone try to run. I hope that the reward is worth it. Just when I thought that I found somebody I could share stuff with, and trust I find out she's a run away.
Her poor family though, I know what it's like to lose a loved one because of debts. When I was nine I heard my mother and father yelling at each other, something about him owing a lot of money. Later on I realized that she was sold off to somebody so he could save himself and I. I never saw my mother after that night ever again. My father also lost contact with her. I remember him crying countless times over it, apparently he was supposed to be able to communicate with her every once in a while to see how she was doing and if she was alright. She cut off all connections after a week or so. I've always thought that she was more happy with whoever she was with, like her life was so much better now that we were out of her life.
I grabbed her phone out of her pocket and went to the contacts. I called the only person in her contacts. "Hello?" I was now regretting the call. I sort of want to keep her as my own. "Hey I found this cellphone on the ground, do you know who it belongs to?" "Yes of course I do, it's my girlfriends I'm worried sick about her. She was out grabbing groceries and she hasn't came home yet." I quickly hung up and put her phone back. I carried her upstairs to the guest bedroom and lay her down on the bed, letting her rest was what I thought was best for her right now.

I woke up to my phone ringing, it's him. I ignored the call and stood up. I'm feeling really weak right now. I walked to the doorway and peered into the hallway. Even though the hallway was clear I still ran down it as fast as I could. I bolted down the stairs and straight to the front door. As I went for the knob a hand grabbed my shoulder and forcefully turned me around. "Where do you think you're going?" Jason said with a psychotic smile.
I slowly started backing away from the door, turned around, and ran up the stairs. I ran to the farthest room from the staircase, which appeared to be a workout room. I closed the door as quietly as possible. I picked up a small weight and lied down behind the treadmill. I heard stomping up the stairs and into the first room, then to the next. After that room he burst through the doorway which made the door slam the against the wall behind it causing me to jump.
"Oh there you are," he said walking over to the treadmill and grabbing me by the hair. As I went to swing the weight at his head he grabbed my arm. "Did you just try to hurt me? You know that I'm not going to let this go without punishment right?" I tried to pull away from him but that only made his grip tighten. He then began to drag me down the hallway and into the bathroom. "Clean yourself up, I will go grab you clothes and a towel to dry off with. Don't even think twice about running." He closed the door and walked downstairs.
I quickly got undressed and into the shower, as I was washing my hair Jason knocked on the door and came in. "I brought you an outfit and a towel. Please make haste with the shower and meet me downstairs in the living room. We need to talk," and with that, he left. I finished up and started to dry myself off, looking at the dress he picked out. It was an old school polka-dot halter dress, with a pair of fresh underwear and a bra. I put it on, folded the towel, then walked downstairs to talk with Jason. What does he have planned? He can't be too cruel, he seems like a sweetheart. In all honesty, I was terrified.
When I walked into the room Jason was casually sitting on one of the sofas with one leg crossed over the other. "Come over here and take a seat," he said patting the spot right next to him. I hesitantly walked over to the couch and sat down next to him. He put his arm over me as he began to speak. "I want you to understand that I never intend on hurting you. I feel like you were lying to me when you said that your relationships have been complicated and abusive. I'm going to give you a chance to be honest with me here, what were you actually running away from?"
My breath hitched. He knew, I guess telling him the truth won't be that bad. "My 'ex-boyfriend' isn't my boyfriend at all. He just tells me to call him that if anyone that comes over and asks. My family owed a lot of money to my captor. The only way out of it was to sell me off to him. After that, they lived a happy debt-free life. I guess I wasn't good enough for them, they left me there like I meant nothing." I began tearing up, I thought that they cared for me. I started crying hard, sobbing into my hands. Jason turned to me and started to rub my back. "It's okay, I'm here now. You can just stay here with me forever and I'll protect you. You're safe here, as long as you don't try to run away."
He said with a bright smile, did he honestly think that I'd stay here with him after he drugged me? I sniffled and managed to force a smile back at him. "Thank you so much for taking me in, I'm glad I have someone who cares and will protect me." I shifted in my seat crossing my legs. "I'm glad you think that, now will you go into the kitchen and make me something to eat?"
