One-Shot (1/?)
"Two years, too late?"
I ask, almost whispering. I was holding everything that I have right now, but it wouldn't matter kung mawawala siya sa akin. I lost her once, and I felt like it was my decisions before that made me lose her again for the second time. I gather every courage I have to look in her eyes, hoping, na sana ay nandoon pa rin ako. My heart clenched with the view; she was crying. The only woman I loved whole heartedly is crying again like how she did before.
"I would never make you cry kung magiging akin ka." I said hinting a feeling I've been keeping for a while now.
Will you hear my heart longing for you, Laixelle?
"Nasabi na rin nila sakin 'yan, Raven."
"I'm not them, Lai."
"Strict parents ko."
I can't help but chuckle, "Liligawan ko sila habang minamahal kita."
"Matagal pa ako."
"Hihintayin kita."
"Wala akong oras para sayo – ."
"You can't give me reasons to unlike you, Miss Laixelle, but I can give you a thousand why I do like you—just let me start.
"You can't get rid of me, Lai. Not in this lifetime."
I'm sorry for not keeping my promises, minamahal ko. I have no valid excuse of letting you go.
"I'm back, Laixelle, I am claiming your back."
I stared at her, trying to find answers in her eyes when her mouth failed to do so. She's not speaking the whole time we were together. She was just there standing. Just how she did when I left her two years ago.
Ever since she came back, I thought I'm making progress with her.
It's been two years since she came back. We haven't talked about anything about our past.
I crawled my way to the top for her, expecting that she will be with me when I did.
Instead, I lose her in the process. I can't help but think, why did I even fight my way up here kung wala naman siya sakin.
"Please say something, mahal ko, I'm going crazy here."
