Ally
"Ladies and gentlemen, American Airlines welcomes you to New York. The local time is two-twenty four AM. For your safety-"
I let out a quiet groan, "Finally." The girl next to me sighs, "Right! I'm so ready to get off of this stuffy plane."
I lay my head back against the seat, "Agreed."
The plane lands and I get my carry on and impatiently wait to exit. I finally get to baggage claim and I text Louis.
Louis: So excited to see you, love. It's been too long!
I smile and grab my bag as quick as I can, "Thank the lord." I make my way to the doors and look around. A huge smile slaps itself on my face as soon as I lay eyes on Louis, "Ahh!"
I run over and jump into his arms, "Oh my god! You have no idea how much I've missed you!" Louis hugs me tight, "I think I do. I missed you so fucking much, Al."
He kisses my head a few times and sets me down, "Let's go home, I love you and all, but I hate this fucking place." I laugh and throw my bags into the back seat. I climb into the passenger side and buckle up.
"So.. tell me. How was it out west?" He lights up a cigarette and holds the pack up to me. I take one and light it. "Yep. I missed this, too." He chuckles, "You didn't smoke in college?"
I give him a look, "Do you know how hard college is?" He gives me a weird look back, "Uh no because I never went." I laugh, "No. I could have but my roommate was-"
"Crazy?"
I raise my eyebrows, "Oh boy, that is such an understatement." He shrugs, "Maybe she was secretly in love with you." I roll my eyes and shiver, "Don't make me think about that, Louis. Please no." He laughs and shakes his head, "Man, it's good to have you home. Four years is way too fucking long."
I bite my lip, "Um. So speaking of.. love.."
He tilts his head, "Don't do that."
"Do what?"
"You know what, Ally. Don't go back to worrying about him. You guys broke up for all the right reasons."
I frown slightly, "Yeah, but-"
"Absolutely no buts, missy. You are better off without him."
"Is he at least.. still around? I know he was touring or whatever.." I look over slowly at Louis. He sighs, "Yeah, he's still around but.." he stops talking. "What?" I ask poking him, "You can't just stop in the middle of a sentence, you know I hate that."
He looks over at me, "You shouldn't worry about him." I furrow my brows and laugh weakly, "What is he like married or something?"
Louis give me a a half frown and shrugs, "No but he's about to be."
"Oh." Is all I can get out. I puff on my cigarette one last time before flicking it out the window, "That's nice. That's great actually. First he gets the fame and fortune and now he's getting a wife. Everything he's ever wanted."
He lays a hand on my leg, "Ally. Come on. Don't do this."
"No, this is fine. I'm fine. I'm happy for him." I fight back tears.
